Entry tags:!1997: 11, !incomplete, kira rackharrow, rodolphus lestrange

Who: Rodolphus Lestrange and Kira Rackharrow
When: November 17, 1997 (so backdated XD)
Where: Out and about?
What: Kira's on the hunt and Rodolphus is on a recruiting idea.
Rating: Probably low? TBD
Open/Closed: Closed

Kira was annoyed with the Ministry. Certainly she liked that she worked there and had access to all the knowledge that was kept there, but they limited her on subjects. Now rodents and other animals worked well, but she knew that sometimes curses acted differently on animals then they did on people and that wouldn't give her accurate results for her work. So Kira decided that she was going to find her own test subjects. No one would miss some homeless muggles and she could work off some aggression if she used her most favored curse. She'd just have to make sure she got enough.

So when work ended Kira quickly made her way out of the Ministry, ignoring her colleagues that called out to her. She didn't want to socialize today and play the good little employee. She stopped at the apparation area, contemplating just leaving from there before shaking her head. She needed to think this through further to make certain she didn't let her aggravation get the best of her. With what she was planning she needed to be careful and not make mistakes.

"Damned regulations," she muttered under her breath as she pulled her robe closer to her body, paying little attention to the people she was passing as she went.

"Are you?" Rodolphus sounded interested enough in the prospect of that, but waved a hand dismissively. "That, also, is a good sign. You must know the way this Ministry is headed, now?"

In all honestly who didn't know the way the Ministry was headed now? But she didn't voice that thought. "Of course. It has been rather hard to miss. I find it to be a much needed and welcomed changed myself."

That seemed to be the right answer, because Rodolphus' strict and straight posture relaxed just a fraction, and he nodded. "Quite," he said, and then cocked his head to the side. "I've seen your records, Rackharrow. For a woman, your peers find you particularly fierce when you want something. It was a family trait, I believe? Your name carries some renown..."

Ah, now that was a little better. It was starting to look like this would be a good conversation after all. "I'm quite certain that fierce isn't the only thing that my peers find me," she replied in amusement, quite amused honestly remembering the sorts of things she'd heard about herself. "I've been bringing back a lot of the old family traits recently."

"Have you?" Rodolphus did indeed sound interested in that. "Any of the more painful ones?"

"I've been updating the Entrail-Expelling Curse, slowing it down rather then making it instantaneous all for the sake of coming up with a possible counter to it, of course." She smirked at that, using quotation marks when talking about coming up with a counter. "And of course I found the ones he was working on when he died and I'm finishing those."

"Ah," Rodolphus said, smirking again. "Well, it will be nice to see those. In practice." His arms dropped to his side, "If you had an opportunity, Rackharrow, to further the purpose of those of real Wizarding blood, would you take it?"

Further the purpose of those of real Wizarding blood? That certainly seemed to be a good thing to her. "If the opportunity presented itself I wouldn't be adverse to taking it. In the end it all comes down to what sort of good I'd be doing and exposure risk."

"What sort of good you'd be doing? You would be taking up your birthright as a true witch," Rodolphus sat on the edge of the empty, unused desk, still rigid even when casual. "And when this movement comes to light, there will be rewards, not risks."

So this was turning out to be a very good conversation. Certainly she could have worded her earlier comments better, but his response was basically what she was hoping for. "Then what exactly would my part be in this? I am most certainly interested in doing my part to keep the magical community heading in the direction it appears to be aimed at right now."
