Percy tried not to look visibly relieved but he failed miserably at that moment. And he frowned, turning quickly to locate and identify the few shop occupants that Fred would be rounding up.
Percy stood at the counter still, waiting, and then a thought passed through his mind, "You know, you've not seen my new flat. We could pop round there, and then head out for a drink or dinner? My treat, if you'll allow it."
This was a far cry from the last encounter Percy had had with his brother. That had a lunch encounter, of sorts, and hardly cordial. Now, Percy hoped he was being clear enough. about his motivation and purpose.
At Fred's words about George, Percy turned towards his brother, his eyes raised in some surprise.
