Julien pulled back from Alfie again, but he gave Alfie a smile and eskimo kissed Alfie. "I can always tell you things..." he said, but then the smile dropped from his face. "She was saying things about blood and power and magic... she sounded almost angry at me. I don't know what's going on." He made the facial expression equivalent of a shrug and then pet his hand through Alfie's hair again. "Are your family okay?" he asked quietly.
