Who: Draco and Narcissa
What: Mother and Son talks
Where: Malfoy Manor
When: Last Night
Rating/Warning: TBA, but low

Draco had been home for a week, but most of his time had been spent in his rooms or on the grounds, avoiding any of his Father's (and his own, he supposed, thanks to the Mark on his arm) associates if they came by and planning for this holiday, thinking on what it was that he wanted to tell Astoria. He worried she would think he'd lost his mind, and it would perhaps be clever of her to think so, but he thought it time for a little honesty. Honestly, it was a selfish though. He knew, somehow, that sharing his fears with her would make them weigh a little less heavily on his own shoulders.

They left tomorrow, however. He had spent the afternoon shopping for gifts with his Father, and now that he was left to himself he was.... well, nervous. Which was ridiculous, and annoying, and after he was packed he found himself wandering the Manor a bit aimlessly when he happened on his Mother. He almost left her alone, but instead stood in the doorway and cleared his throat quietly.

"Mother." He said it quietly, to announce himself.

Sitting in the living room sipping a cup of tea, Narcissa's thoughts were not on where she was but on their trip and the time away from all of this. It would be good to spend some time away and she was looking forward to meeting Astoria. She had let her husband take Draco out that morning and instead of joining them she went and made sure everything was ready for tomorrow. With that

Looking up as she heard her son's voice she beckoned for him to come in. "Draco," she said giving him a soft smile. "How are you?"

"Well," Draco answered, moving into the room at her indication that he should, and then taking a seat not precisely near her, but not precisely far away, either. "Looking forward to the holiday. And you, mother?"

Cissa noticed where he sat but didn't comment. There was obviously a reason he had done so though she didn't like it. It made her think that something was the problem. "Well enough and I too am looking forward to it," she said gently. "It should do us some good," she said.

"I think so," Draco answered, and he hadn't exactly put much thought into sitting, really, but he was comfortable enough where he was. He wasn't generally someone who enjoyed being close. "I think you'll like Astoria," he said, after a moment.

Cissa nodded her thoughts still drifting a bit to what still needed to be done for tomorrow. "That is good but I think the most important thing is you like her," she said giving her son a smile. She was happy that her son had seemed to have found someone he liked and she hoped she was fitting for Draco- though she did trust her son.
