Tonks listened closely as Minerva spoke, and she struggled to keep her mouth from dropping open at her offer.
A professor? Tonks had never thought of herself as the type -- too irresponsible, too likely to screw up and teach them something she shouldn't, too likely to become mates with the students instead of an authority figure. Really, she was a shite authority figure anyhow, and to say she was stunned was an understatement.
"Are you sure?" she blurted after several seconds of shocked silence. "I mean, wouldn't someone like Kingsley be best? He's got that booming voice and authority, and do you really think the students would even think to listen to me? I'm not even a decade older than them."
Pausing, Tonks realized what she must've sounded like, and she quickly added, "I'm not saying no, not at all. I'd be honored. I just think -- are you really sure?"
