Daphne & OPEN.
Home.
Though it was only going to be for nine days, Daphne was appreciative of the short time she would be able to spend in her own bed. For once Daphne was not looking forward to heading back home, she didn't want to deal with her parents and she most certainly didn't want to go to Sweden for Christmas. This would be the first Christmas spent away from her family. Considering the circumstances, Daphne didn't care about spending it away from her mother and father, but she would prefer to spend time with Astoria. Under normal circumstances, Daphne would jump at the chance to go to Sweden, however, this was not normal circumstances. She was being forced into a situation that she was not comfortable with, and she was positive that she could have a miserable time at the Vaisey's.
With her trunk loaded onto the train, the girl shrugged off her green coat and folded it on the seat next to her. Sinking down on the seat nearest a window, sapphire blue gaze stared out the window to the platform at Hogsmeade. Frowning slightly, she found it strange that so many professors escorted the students to the train, and a brow arched curiously as a group of what she could only assume were Ministry workers showed up and attempted to move onto the platform. Why was McGonagall intercepting them? Were the professors actually denying them access to the platform?
Rolling her eyes, Daphne ran her hands down the front of her black pleated skirt, and situated it over legs, getting rid of the creases. This year was turning out to be one of the strangest, between Dumbledore's death, the attack on the Ministry, and everything things have been so jumbled and confusing.
Running fingers through her straight brown hair, she glanced around her empty carriage. She was just grateful to find one empty, that last thing she wanted to do was resort to sharing a carriage with Pansy, or some giggling third years. Hopefully someone she could tolerate for such a long train ride would show up.
