If Draco wasn't playing, Astoria had no interest in Quidditch, so she'd made no plans to attend. She'd fallen, for the first time in her memory, a little behind on her school work, so she'd spent most of two hours catching up and making notes. She kept getting distracted by the glint of the gorgeous dragon bracelet Draco had sent her. She hadn't taken it off since she'd received it and often found her fingers stroking lightly over the tiny head of the dragon when she wasn't paying attention. It never failed to put a smile on her face.
Finally though, she had finished her catch up, and found herself restless and unwilling to hang about in her dorm room all afternoon. Sitting down by the fireplace in the common room with a good book sounded much more appealing. She dug one of her new unread Wizard romance novels out of the bottom of her trunk, tucked it under one arm, and grabbed the velvet quilt from the foot of her bed, before making her way to the Slytherin common room.
She hadn't bothered with slippers, her sock-covered feet barely making a sound on the thick rugs spread over the common room floor to abate the chill of the stone floors. She brightened visibly when she saw Draco by the fire and made her way over to the side of the chair he always seemed to favor. "You know, I half expected you to be watching the match this afternoon, sizing up the laughable lack of competition."
