Alfie took a shower after the game and trudged out long after most of his teammates had left the Pitch, locking up his broom and then trudging back and toward the castle. He didn't know how the game had gone so badly. Only 80 points the whole game? And how many teammates to visit in the hospital wing? Three? Four? He hoped Megan and Oswald were okay - they seemed to have really been the hardest hit out of anyone.
He didn't suspect that his sister or anyone had waited for him - it was starting to get colder again and dark now too - but he saw Julien there and he actually managed a grin. He was there. He'd actually come out with the Quidditch crowd and all to see him fly. Somehow, that made the loss just a little easier to stomach.
