He had actually done fairly well on his Potions assignment in class. He had his homework done for DADA on time and turned in for a change. And he had met with Theo and actually caste a rather acceptable Engorgio spell, making a cup grow in size. It had been a first, and it was cause to celebrate as far as Greg was concerned. He'd gone up to his room, after he'd eaten dinner.

Dragging out the trunk, Greg caste one of the only hexes he could do well, and popped the trunk open to pull out a bottle of Fire-Whiskey. If he could count on his older brothers for anything, he could count on them for booze. For whatever reason, they felt that copious amounts of booze should be available to Greg and his friends. Greg had thought long and hard on it, and he still hadn't been able to figure out why they did it; he certainly wasn't going to say no to the owls they sent.

With the bottle out, he unscrewed the top and took a long draw from the bottle and coughed hard as the booze hit his throat.

Draco had been in the library when he'd written, and he wasn't entirely sure what prompted him to ask Goyle to drink with him - other than the fact that he'd fielded questions all bloody day about why he'd handed over the Quidditch Captaincy, and he was sick of it.

As he came through the door to their dorm, he saw Goyle had already started in on it. He snorted, dropping his books down onto his bed and then taking off his school robes, loosening his tie.

"Starting without company? Show of an alcoholic, you know."

	Theo wandered in a scant minute after, already sans tie and school robes, dressed in a t-shirt made of something non-muggle, trousers and... socks? "Can't blame the guy for wanting to get drunk before you join the party Draco." he commented drily and then, true to form, draped himself over Greg's bed instead of his own. Greg's face was red, and he stopped coughing to start grinning, "Bullshit! I just thought I'd taste it, make sure it was good," he said, taking a seat on his bed not far from Theo,holding the bottle in his hand as it rested on the bed, "Thought you'd both be here in a tick, so," and he grinned as he took another swallow.

He coughed only a little this time, and winced at the fire in his throat and then held it out to Draco, "It's been a good day. How about you?"

"See if it was good?" Draco cocked an eyebrow and pulled his desk chair up next to Greg's bed. "It's firewhiskey, isn't it? It all tastes like fire and cauldron rot." Which wasn't going to stop him, actually.

He took the bottle when it was held out to him, but the idea of drinking one after the other that way almost killed whatever it was in him that thought a drinking party might have been a good idea. He wiped the mouth of the bottle off with his sleeve, then took a drink himself.

It burned, and he almost hissed as it hit his throat, but he did take another before he held the bottle out to Theodore, hitting him in the leg with it. "What's been good about it?"

	Theo had no such objections. Now that he was here to get drunk he was going to throw himself into just that, one drink and one drink only be fucked. He made a face at Draco when the bottle hit his leg and then upended the thing in his mouth, glugging and tipping it back, handing it over to Greg. "We made a cup go big, didn't we." he said. Greg was grinning like a fool, and he nodded at Draco, "I bloody well DID it! Fucking cast the charm the FIRST time and it worked," and Greg took the bottle, nodding a thanks at Theo as he took a swig, not pausing in the least.

He was still grinning as he swallowed, his face starting to glow slightly pink as the booze entered his system. He looked at Draco, "Theo's giving me some help, you know, so when I get out of here, I might be able to get a bloody job."

He took another drink, definitely feeling the Fire-whiskey, and he started to hold the bottle out to Draco but paused. With a smirk on his face, he carefully wiped the lip on his shirt and then passed it to his buddy, "What? You have a bad day?" he asked, tilted his head at the blond boy.

"No, it's been perfectly brilliant." Draco answered with dripping sarcasm, but oddly didn't say a word about Goyle finally mastering a charm that most first years could cast in their second week of school.

A job? Why the hell would Goyle want one of those, he wondered. He'd always assumed Goyle would do just what his father did - act as a goon for The Dark Lord or higher families. Did the other Goyle have a day job, Draco wondered for the very first time.

He pushed the thought away and took the bottle, taking another drink - longer this time - and then passing it back to Nott. "And you, Nott? Sunshine and roses as well?"

	Theo took the bottle and nodded, "Mmhm, Sunshine Roses." Before knocking the stuff back, enough that when he pulled back to hand over to Greg he had to catch his breath, his head spinning but mostly from lack of air. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Greg shook his head and chuckled, "Well, you gave us all tons to pester you about. Giving up the Captain spot without a boo? Not that I am going to bug you for a why. You'd tell me if you wanted me to know," Greg said, taking the bottle from Theo. He was extremely pleased to see Theo joining in, considering he'd planned on watching and not drinking.

Greg took another chug, and then made a loud exhaling sound of pleasure, "Fuck this is good," he said, and he passed the bottle to Draco and then scooted back on the bed, so that he could lean against the wall.

"Whether or not someone had fodder for pestering me wasn't my concern," Draco answered, his expression dangerously close to shifting into an angry sort of sneer. "I have better things to do than worry what the rest of the dolts in this house think of my priorities." Not that he could speak on what his priorities were, exactly. Not to anyone.

He took the bottle, nose wrinkling in slight distaste at Greg's sentiment, but he took another drink. And then, because Nott seemed to be able to toss it back without issue, he took another. Too fast, because he felt oddly heavy, and he knew he shouldn't.

Theo was displeased at Draco's outlook on the situation - the blond had spent so much time bathing in the limelight that he surely couldn't have expected this reaction NOT to happen when he gave up the Captaincy - but he held his tongue for now because he was strolling merrily towards Drunkville and he wanted to get there without being verbally mugged and left for dead on the way.

He raised an eyebrow at Greg as Draco took a drink and was surprised to see Draco jumping his turn as he took another swig. He took the bottle from the blond and swigged some down, swilling the bottle after to gauge how much was left before handing it on to Greg. He was sure that his ability to drink like a fish came from his father, who did enough for the past five generations of Nott's family, but at the same time he was an "awfully slight boy" as he'd overheard, and he was unlikely to have time to be drunk before the booze hit, was more likely to slide straight into unconsciousness.

"Don't get peeved," Greg snorted, watching Draco turn slightly grumpier before he eyes, "I was just pointing out the obvious."

He watching Draco down a long draw, and then Theo did the same. Greg paused, noting what he thought was a slight warming of Theo's skin; it made his other friend look....happy.

"Theo," Greg said, as he reached over to get the bottle from him, "You make me proud," he said grinning, "Just don't go puking on my bed, okay?" he added, and he leaned and rested his arm against Theo's leg with his hand open, "I want one more, I think and then I'm slowing down a bit."

Greg stayed where he was and turned a slightly groggy head to Draco, "And that idea about Nik. I think it is brilliant, really. It's just going to take some planning. Should I dump him at the end of the games or somewhere in the middle? I don't want to make us lose," he added, still waiting for Theo to put the bottle in his hand.

Draco didn't miss the fact that Goyle and Nott were... were they friends? Had this happened before and he'd missed it, somehow? That was entirely possible, he hadn't paid much attention to any of his dormmates last year. Then again, he'd been a bit busy.

"Idea? Oh." Astoria's warning came to mind, and he shook his head. "We'll need to figure a way around it looking obvious, otherwise he'll boot you from the team."

Theo gave Greg a questioning look as he said his name and then made a face at the very idea that he'd throw up on his bed... and not be able to clean it up afterwards; that's what Scourgify was for.

"Mmm." he said in response to Greg's decision, not expecting it to be upheld and not even batting an eye at the hand on his leg, passing the bottle over.

It took him a second or two for him to catch up with the conversation his roomies were having. "What's the point?" he asked, purely curious. He wasn't getting surly yet, this wasn't that Russian Firewater stuff after all.

Greg gave a mean sounding chuckle, "Can't let him get the lead spot without a bit of hazzing, right? It's all in good fun really. I mean, I like him well enough," and Greg paused, "I don't know. Maybe I should re-think this," and now he snorted with some myrth, "Not that I was thinking anything when I bloody crashed into him. He just sort of popped up in front of me," he added.

Greg moved his arm from Theo's leg casually as he accepted the bottle, "So, I am thinking that I am going to crash that thing at Three Broomsicks Saturday, just to make some fun," he said before drinking from the bottle.

"Because it was the most interesting thing that happened in the entire bloody game," Draco told Theodore, snorting softly. "Though if we're going to continue it, perhaps it would be so suspicious every other game... you and Crabbe could alternate. Next time he topples him."

Draco didn't keep up with what others planned, usually, and he had no idea what Greg was on about. "What thing?" And why the hell would Goyle want to crash it?

Theo would have asked why watching Greg topple Nik every game would be interesting after you'd seen it happen for the nth time, but he was almost at that nice fuzzy place of drunk where he couldn't feel much and the stuff he COULD feel was all nice and mmm...

He neatly bypassed the order of things and took the bottle back from Greg, drinking from it in a healthy slug before handing it over to Draco. "A what in the thing?" he asked, still incoherent. He slowly slowly lay down until he was lying on his front with his chin propped up in his hands, legs brought up behind him like a small child.

Greg smirked as Draco was skipped by the bottle, and shrugged at Draco's comment, "Yeah. Good point. I think you are probably right, as far as me getting the bloody boot. He'd be the kind not to take a joke like that."

Greg smirked more as Theo made himself comfortable on the bed. It was rare that Greg saw him so relaxed. He liked it as it made him relax more as well. Greg stretched out his own legs as he re-sat with his back against the bed, with his foot very close to Theo's side.

"That thing," he said to Draco, "In the village. There are free drinks," he added, and frowned slightly, "Don't you read the journals? Lisa's brother is offering to pay, for her birthday and well," he said, as a wicked grin slipped to replace his smirk, "I think there should be a small Slytherin presence. I'm going if anyone else is game," he said, reaching out to touch Theo's foot and sort of shake it, "You going?"

He knew he might get kicked in the teeth, but he thought he could handle it. Theo was nothing compared to a bludger Greg was certain.

"Ah, so you've invited yourself along to a party with Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs dancing about getting drunk?" Draco's look of distaste was clearly easy to read, and he glared a bit about the bottle being taken from him and then reached to snag it again. He didn't care for the taste, but he'd resolved to get himself pissed tonight, and he wasn't going to be skipped over while he was doing it.

Theo was quite happy to lie there and be talked over, or around, at that point.

He handed the bottle to Draco and then took it back again as soon as it was held out. He thought that Draco's distaste was a little misplaced and said as such - "Who cares about company when you're out and getting drunk."

He took a drink from the bottle and started a little bit as Greg tugged at his foot, looking over and then handing the bottle across. "I don't believe I will be, no." he answered, with none of the scorn that Draco might have put into the words.

Greg looked at Draco sharply, surprised at his tone.

"Now when was it frowned upon to go and fuck things up a bit for the other houses? You think I'm bloody well going down there to socialize, do you? I had thought to go, have a bit of a drink or two and then fucking pick a few fights, bully a few about. You know, Draco? Toss them about on their asses," he said, a nasty mean smile curling his tipsy lips, "What's the harm in that? Having a bit of fun, is all I was thinking," he added, his voice turning sullen, and he slid his hand down Theo's foot to his ankle and gave the other boy's leg a small squeeze and a shake.

"Come on, Theo, it could be good fun. And we could take a bet, to see how many noses I could break? Right? I mean, I feel like giving them all a bit of a kick in the ass, just for fun is all," he added, keeping his hand on the other boy's ankle now, rubbing the sock with his finger. Greg wasn't aware he was even doing it; he was just feeling the fabric absently.

Greg looked back at Draco, a bit of puzzlement and confusion replacing that mean smirk, "I mean, isn't that what you want us..I mean me to do? Fuck with them a bit?"

Draco blinked at the question, and for a moment he had to remind himself just why the hell Goyle would think he'd wanted that. But then ... right. The damn Squad. And all his to control again, when half the members didn't give enough of a sodding fuck about it all to let him know they were interested.

But it was the one thing he had to take home on holidays as proof that he was doing something useful, so he forced a cruel sort of smirk and grabbed at the bottle again, shrugging. "I suppose. If you get a few good knocks. I just wish it were Gryffindors, you know. Find a way to catch Weasley and her girlfriend out, or something."

While Greg was defending his decision, Theo crossed his arms and pillowed his head in them, sighing heavily. By the time Greg shook his leg he was largely unresponsive, doing no more than raising an eyebrow in the other boy's direction. "Unfortunately, as amusing as that sounds, it's not really my thing." he said, again not as scathing as it might have been. He barely felt the hand on his ankle, and once it became usual he tuned it out all together.

He turned his head to hear Draco's reply to this actually very reasonable question, but closed his eyes again. "You sound fixated." Theo commented absently, reaching a hand out for the bottle back once Draco was done.

"I could do that, harass the females a bit, I suppose," and Greg let a wicked grin spread across his face, "You think they....do it? But how? They've got no bits to...to....," and his face became puzzled as a mental picture of two girls together tried to fill his mind.

He looked at Draco, expectantly, "What do ya think? I mean, is that what frosts you about them? Or is it the fact that the Weasley bint is happy with someone else besides Potter? And come on! I really feel like smashing a few faces, breaking a few bones so to speak. I can't get either of you to come with me?" he asked, hope in his voice as he looked from Draco to Theo and back to Draco.
