Michael really wasn't sure what had made him tell Mandy what he had. He'd done a rather good job at ignoring the fact he liked her. It wasn't that he wanted to ignore it, but they got on so well that he was content with just that. He knew that there were other people he could date though he wasn't nearly as as confident or popular with the opposite sex as he liked to act. It was an amusing joke, so to say, between the two though and helped him continue to just be friends with her. And then he'd went and commented like he did on her journal.
Normally Michael was good with his comments with her. They went back and forth a lot and there was always light hearted teasing either about his apparent dating prowess or at their oddities that they shared with one another. It was easy for neither of them to take serious any teasing remarks the other made. But by the time he'd noticed the shift he'd made from just being teasing to honestly meaning them he found he didn't want to go back.
And that was what led to what was going on now. Now Michael was in his room, making sure it was at least straightened up some. He'd already changed out of his uniform earlier, but he'd switched shirts to a newer button up verses the old, worn in t-shirt he'd had on earlier. The t-shirt was stained and had a few holes and was generally just one he wore when he was going to be hanging in the dorm as he'd throw a robe over it to hide it when he went to dinner, but it wasn't something he'd ever be caught in by Mandy or anyone of the opposite sex. Still though he wasn't quite at the point of wanting to impress her, so that was as far as he went. First he had to see how this discussion went.
The knock was soft, but since he was the only one in here at the moment he heard it with ease and he stood from his bed, taking a deep breath in and out before making his way to it. "Mands," was his reply as he opened the door and stepped back, gesturing her in.
