Nikolas snickered at Daphne's postulation about Pansy. He supposed that would have been at least as annoying, if not more so, as the setup he found himself in now. Regardless, that didn't change the fact that this was supposed to happen, whether the partner was desirable or not.

Didn't Daphne spend a lot of time with Pansy? At the very least she seemed to consider the girl a friend. Or ally. Nikolas sometimes had doubts as to whether Slytherin girls, or most Slytherins, for that matter, really believed in friendship over convenient alliances. "I thought you two were friendly?"
