Alfie heard. Honestly, though, he didn't care. Talking to himself wouldn't be the most embarrassing thing he'd ever done by far, and he generally wasn't the sort of person to be concerned about what other people though about him much... except maybe Julien, or the blokes on the Quidditch team. Or his sisters, or maybe Audrey. But none of them really made fun of him much, so he figured he was safe. Besides, he was good with voices, and that hadn't been any of the people who he would have worried about.
A cat darted around the corner at breakneck speed, though, and so he was still sort of laughing at Puddle's confused expression when the girl came around. Bundy, he though. Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff were in too many classes together as lower forms not to recognize her, but he couldn't remember her first name right off.
