It was rather peculiar to be on the opposite side of the fence for once. Oh, not on muggle rights, her father was muggle-born, not that. It was that usually she was the one sitting there, talking to animals when someone else came upon her and gave her one of those looks. She was kind enough not to give the boy speaking with his cat one of those, not strictly kindness, she also understood. Karina paused there, uncertain, on the edge of the corridor. It was the fastest way to her dorm, but then, it was also past the boy talking to his kitten. She didn't want him to think that she was going to tell anyone, or make fun of him though.
Instead she turned around, walked a bit down the hall back the way she came and dropped her bag in the empty hallway, to alert him to her presence before she was too close to where he was with his kitten. That had been intentional. The yell, "Oi! Hey, come back here!" was not. Naturally it would be the moment that she dropped her bag that Edgar would appear and make off with her favorite quill. It was too late though, the cat had already shot around the corner and was out of sight with his 'prey' in his mouth. "Blasted cat!"
She sighed and went back for her bag, hoisting it up onto her shoulders and appearing around the corner, hoping that she would not find the boy and his kitten covered in paw prints and knocked on their bums.
