It was a decidedly more mature conversation than he'd had with girls before - Draco tried to remember if Pansy had talked to him about the same issues, once. He assumed she must have, but he hadn't been listening. It hadn't seemed as important, then.
Something in him, though, wanted that for Astoria. That she be happy. That she be in love. It was a ridiculous feeling, completely foreign, and it made him uneasy and a bit tense - he barely knew her. Which didn't explain how he felt, or how livid he'd been when she'd been hurt. He thought of that, suddenly, and wondered if she had scars. Which made his jaw twitch slightly again.
Then he wondered if she'd let him see them, which did other things which were decidedly nicer thoughts.
Instead of asking, he tugged just slightly at her hair, and then smirked again - though it was softer than usual. No one would believe it of him if she told them, after all. "And it wouldn't hurt if you enjoyed snogging him."
