Wayne didn't wait for anyone. He knew most of his mates were itching to get out, so he decided to take the initiative and get up in the air first.

As soon as he got to the practice paddock, he straddled his broom and kicked off, heading up to the goal rings at the far end. The chill of the late October night was exhilarating. He started to do loops, dips, and a few barrel rolls for good measure, just to feelthe thrill of being in the air and being free...

Megan had been more than willing to go for a fly when Wayne had brought it up earlier that day. After finishing up some last minute homework she had the Hufflepuff practically jogged all the way from the basement corridor to the pitch. Not because she was terrified of being caught out of the dorms so late, but she didn't want to be the last one to show up.

That would have been rather lame to be honest.

With her own broom resting atop her shoulder, Megan entered the pitch with an attempt to catch her breath. She recognized Wayne already zipping about above and went to stand in the center of the well trimmed grass. Calling out to the boy she asked, "Oie! Who else is coming!?"

Wayne pulled into a hard turn to see Megan calling to him on the ground. "Orion, I think, and perhaps Kinsey and Eloise," he said, diving slowly towards her. "We might have enough for a pick-up match, if someone thinks to bring a Quaffle."

He hovered a few feet off the ground, grinning like a Cheshire cat. "Come on, then. The air is cool, the stars are out... It's a perfect night, yeah?"
