Where: outside the Great Hall
What: brooding and pondering
Rating: PG

Impossible. Just impossible. Dumbledore was gone. Half the Ministry was dead. Harry, Ron and Hermione on the run. The Order had been duped, and Voldemort was in power again. It was all something out of a bad dream.

Neville had had plenty of bad dreams in his life, of course, but this was worse. This was reality.

As he stood near the Great Hall, Neville's head was swimming with thought. How to protect the castle? How to clear his friends' names? How to... How to save the world. No, that wasn't his job. Not directly. Not remotely. Remote. Remote location. Where to go, where to hide, if need be, to plot, to strike back... He sunk down against the door. All of the thinking was giving him a migraine.
