He had been sitting on his bottom for the last thirty minutes in the library trying to study and do assignments. Even for someone who loved to learn, he had started to find some of the reading quite tedious and hard to focus on. At least the sunshine was somewhat relaxing and soothing when his mind was the farthest thing from feeling any of it. Maybe he should stop trying to read his Transfiguration text and try something else. It was making for a dreadful read and almost useless information since he was just reading it mindlessly to wrap his head around what McGonagall was trying to say at the end of the lesson in preparation for the next one. At least then he would have some idea what to expect.
He sat there reading, half-too into trying to understand the passage and half-honest to god falling asleep. His head dangerously close to the desk and his eyes half lidded, but focused through blurred eyes. Maybe this was what he got for trying to get ahead of himself. A headache and more words than he needed to comprehend at the moment was certainly seeming to be his afternoon. Great. Now he was confused and wished someone else would come along and tell him they were just as confused. Brushing himself off saying that he didn't need to know this yet, he sighed and let his shoulder slump a little.
That was until a voice spoke and almost made him jump a mile high. Seriously the last place he expected anyone to approach him was in the library. He had been so locked away in his own little world that he almost physically jumped. 'Oh, yeah, yeah, sure,' he said quickly in a loud whisper. It took him about another minute to calm his pounding heart and to see that it was Hannah Abbot. Honestly, better her than some of the others in his year...or house. Michael or Anthony would have been laughing their pants off at this reaction. 'Hey Hannah.'
