While Ernie laughed bitterly Susan just glanced away from him and down to the half eaten sugar quill in her hand. Susan was at a loss for words, and she attempted to find them as Ernie continued to justify his actions. Turning the sugar quill over in her fingers, the candy no longer looked appetizing. Susan couldn't really pin point while this upset her so much, perhaps it was the fact that this was Ernie. Maybe if it was coming from someone else she wouldn't be feeling this... well, she couldn't really pin point how she felt.
Picking her next words carefully, she finally spoke. "Just... be careful, with the current track record the Slytherin's hold, I'm not quite sure how much someone should trust in them." Biting down on her bottom lip, Susan didn't want to make it seem like she was questioning him, but she did want him to be careful.
"Regardless, I see now why you have been so stressed," Her look of concern instantly washed away to sympathy, as she returned her gaze to Ernie. "What sort of steps have you been taking to find out who sent those packages? Do you have any suspects?"
