Ernie Macmillan is frustrated by prejudice. (ernestpuff) wrote in wished,
Ernie grimaced. "It's true." He laughed bitterly. "See why I couldn't tell you through the journals?" Truth be told, Ernie wasn't that worried. Vaisey seemed a fairly decent bloke, for a Slytherin, and it was just like a business deal. It was just... admitting that he had done it was the hardest part. Or that's what he kept telling himself.
And now Ernie had to fill in the details. "The deal was basically that he would try to find out where the Squid was, and I would try to find out who sent those packages. We both worked at it a bit, and, well, neither of us found the answer yet. I now have a list of two probable lochs for the Squid, and he has as much proof as I've been able to find."
He sighed. "We both wanted what we were looking for anyway, and it seemed easier to just not have to do twice the looking." When he phrased it like that it didn't seem too bad, did it? Admittedly it had been stressful, and he still hadn't found the answers, but there was nothing specifically objectionable.
