"Well, I don't think they would get that desperate," Susy was just trying to reason with him, while the Slytherin's did seem like a ruthless bunch, it seemed highly unlikely that they would go to such great measures as actually seeking out the squid to torture it some more. "I mean, after all, the majority of them seemed content just to have the squid out of the lake," Biting her tongue she mulled over that thought. "It is unfortunate, though, I'm going to miss the squid, he never really harmed anyone before..." Her voice trailed off as Ernie seemed to get really upset.
Frowning slightly, her head tilted to the side as a look of concern washed over her, "Ernie," His name came out with a gasp of shock, "Oh, Ernie, you didn't, did you?" That question was more rhetorical as she tried to fathom him actually striking a deal with a Slytherin. "What sort of deal could you make with a Slytherin? At least what sort of fair deal could you make with a Slytherin?"
Susan couldn't understand this, Ernie was Head Boy! Head Boys weren't supposed to cut deals. Susan's tone was more concern then it was judgmental. While she certainly did not approve of this sort of action, she remained open minded. If Ernie needed to cut a deal with a Slytherin, then things must have been REALLY bad. This is Ernie Macmillan after all!
