"Ouuuf," was Padma's only response for a moment, breath knocked out of her a bit. The tree was still flailing about, plainly unhappy to be deprived of its punching bag.
For a second, all Padma could think was that this was going to go over fantastically well, after the removal of the squid. She could already see the headlines about students attacked by the castle grounds. She'd never really understood WHY the tree was here, but she didn't want to see the Ministry come in to uproot the thing either.
She put aside her concerns quickly though, extracting herself as carefully as she could from beneath Demelza and then shaking her head. "You're welcome. Try not to move. I can put you in a body lock and float you inside myself - I think that will jar you the rest. Or I can get Madame Pomfrey and have her do it? Which would you feel more comfortable with?" Padma knew basic healing charms, but she didn't practice them enough to feel comfortable using them on a student in real pain - she didn't want to make anything worse for the other girl.
