Sam Capper is Ginny Weasley's pretend wife. (six_string) wrote in wished,
"Best plan ever," Sam said, trying to come up with a French phrase and failing. Ginny started to move and Sam had to restrain herself from pushing back, keeping the other girl in the intimate arrangement they had. But as Ginny stood, Sam's hands fell away and for a moment she felt her smile start to fall. However, she was pleasantly surprised to find Ginny's arms wrapping around her and bounced right back at the kiss, going from dismayed to practically giddy in seconds.
Ginny extended her hand to offer help up and Sam started to reach for it. She could still feel the warm pressure of her friend's lips. "I think I'm going to have one more," trying to play it off, Sam moved her extended hand to the ground, scooping up the pack of cigarettes like it had been her intention the whole time. "I'll be up soon."
Lighting up, Sam watched Ginny retreat until she was out of sight. The last bit of red hair bobbed around the corner, heading for the castle's main doors, before she finally stood up and sighed. She was just pathetic, hung up on her own best friend and so desperate that she was willing to take advantage of a fight just for the personal intimacy that followed when they made up. Who even did stuff like that?
Shuffling to the lake's edge, Sam folded her arms and stared out at the mountains ringing the horizon, puffing slowly. Her thoughts swum around in her head, all centring around the belief that she had to move on before she found an even lower level to sink to. Taking one last drag, Sam flicked away the dog end and told her mind to think about Audrey instead, an easy and pleasant enough task. Audrey, at least, had a mutual interest. Even if it turned into nothing that was already further along than she would get with Ginny.
"Fuck," Sam muttered, for once without a trace of anger, and turned around to fetch her guitar and get inside before curfew fell, if she got detention before she made it back to the dorm Ginny would never let her forget it. As she hiked up the short beach a glint caught her eye and she knelt to examine a stone poking out of the sand. Brushing away the sand that clung to it, Sam turned it over in her hand and recognised it as a rune stone, though the actual meaning she wasn't sure of. "Cool..." Her fingers traced the etched symbol a few times before she slipped it into her pocket and continued back to the castle.
