Sam Capper is Ginny Weasley's pretend wife. (six_string) wrote in wished,
"Brilliant job," Sam congratulated, applauding the other girl's performance with light clapping. "Couldn't have done it better myself," she added deadpan, letting the memory of the blue bust speak for itself. She could tell the other girl had the same thought and chuckled warmly, more than willing to laugh about it now that she knew Aud wasn't laughing at her.
"We are! I'd even go so far as to say noble. Hey! Maybe they'll even put up busts of us now." The whole impromptu outing had been an unexpected pleasure and Sam found she was quite reluctant to draw it to a close. Turning back toward the staircase, Sam lead them back toward the Great Hall at a much more leisurely pace than they had set out at. She spent most of the return journey describing the grand tapestry the house elves were undoubtedly going to work on, a masterpiece retelling their harrowing journey. She made sure to include the ridiculous colour combinations at the party and Audrey's attempts at stealth in the upstairs corridor.
By the time they were descending the last set of stairs, Sam felt like she wanted to grab Audrey's hand and run back into the depths of the castle, find some other nonsensical mission to occupy their time. It was the same sensation she had any time an outing with Ginny had to come to a close. Crossing the marble tiles of the hall, Sam ignored the sounds of music and voices drifting out of the parted doors and stood just to the side, out of sight of the throng. "That was fun," she said, after a moment, not sure if it was better to let things go unspoken or not.
