Who: Neville and Hannah, and Olivia
What: Tea at Hogwarts
Where: Hannah's new building/home and Hogwarts, Neville's rooms
When: Sunday noonish, November 14th
Status/rating: Pg-13 for language,closed, Incomplete

And Neville headed down the path from school, walking in the cold snow, as he eagerly approached Hogsmeade. He was planning on picking up some treats from tea shop, for them to eat with their own tea at the school, in his rooms.  He was sort of giddy; Hannah was moving into the new building and she needed a bit of a break from the move. He'd offered to come round and fetch her, for tea.  He also had a gift for her, a house warming present of a sort.  He made his stop, and with his treats in hand, he made his way to her shop, utterly thrilled that she now would be so close, so readily accessible and available.  Neville had to wonder if he'd be spending a single night at Hogwarts now that she was here.

He approached the door, and knocked hard, waiting for her to come.

Hannah heard the sharp knocking down on the first floor. She was busy trying to get the living quarters up to par and get Livey settled into her new room, which the little girl was NOT happy about at all. She was in time out for being mean to her mother at the moment. Hannah stuck her head out the second story window, seeing Neville below, "Come on in, it's open." she called down, "We're upstairs obviously."

He looked up, "Okay," he said, and he turned the door knob, making his way inside. The firs thing he was struck with were the boxes, and the small areas of clean spots. He stepped in and moved to the stairs, "I hope I'm not late. I stopped by Madame Puddifoot's place, and picked up a few things," he said as he mounted the stairs, "How are things going?" he asked as he surveyed the large room. Things were looking surprisingly clean and more organized.

"This is looking good Hannah," he said as he slipped the small box out of his pocket, "I've brought you a proper housewarming gift," he said, setting it on the table. He pulled out his wand and taped the box lightly, enlarging it for her to open. Inside, he had though to bring her a blooming cactus as a gift.

"I hope you like it. I thought it very unique and special, very much like yourself," he offered, setting his other box down so he could move to greet her with a hug, "How are you doing? Ready for a break?"

"It's coming along, not as fast as Livey would like." she sighed as she glanced towards the rooms. She moved to open the box that he'd brought to find a blooming cactus. "Oh how lovely." she said with a small smile, moving to take it out of the box with her wand, floating up onto a high shelf where Livey couldn't reach it and poke herself.

"I am more then ready for a break and I think Livey would like to be out of time out."

"Excellent," he said as he gave her hug, "You've done so much in here already. I am impressed," he added, kissing her temple briefly, "But where is Olivia?" he asked, glancing about for her, "Is she in her room?" he asked, as he held her close, lending her some support, all that he could offer her in that hug.

"I've cleaned up the place. I've got treats so whenever you are ready, we can head up to the school."

"She is in time out for being surly and rude." Hannah said with a small sigh, "She hasn't taken to those move very well, all of her toys are packed up and she can't find anything and it's all different for her. She'll get used to it, but that doesn't mean she won't throw a fit until she does."

"Ahh," he said, not sure what he could do to help with this, "I'm sorry she's not weathering it as well as all that. Would you rather I lend you some help here, to get her toys unpacked?" he offered, wanting to help make it all go easier for her and her daughter.

"I feel bad for her, but she'll settle in, I am certain," he said, rubbing her back for a long moment as he held her. He pulled back, and tipped his head to see her face, and leaned in to kiss her.

"Whenever you are ready, honey," he said, wanting to actually kiss her again.

She kissed him back with a small smile, "Our Livey is just going to have to learn a little bit of patience and that a temper tantrum doesn't get her her way all the time." she said before she kissed the tip of his nose. "You should go get her, she's been asking for her and I'm afraid that she's rather cross with me."

Neville accepted the kiss, closing his eyes as he held her, and he opened them at her suggestion, "I can do that for you, of course," he said, giving her a smile. He let go of her, and began to walk towards Olivia's room, "I think we should head out sooner than later. The weather is perfect for the walk," he said as he made his way down the hall.

"Olivia? Hey Livey, where are you?" he said and he stopped at the door leading to Olivia's room, and looked in. She was over in the corner, sitting on the floor, playing with a small toy. Her time out had not lasted long, it seemed, and had turned more into a quiet time.

That was all her time outs really were unless she was very very bad. That meant that she was in the crib after getting a pat on the butt. Olivia looked up from her toy, it wasn't the toy she wanted. "Nebille." she mumbled, fisting her eyes and sniffling slightly before she got up and ran to him

He stepped towards her and crouched down so that she could come into his arms. He gave her a hug and a kiss on the head, and lifted her up, her hand still holding the toy, "Livey, sweet heart. So are you ready to come visit the school? Mommy and I want to take a break. Don't you feel like taking a break as well?"

He asked her as he walked with Olivia in his arms, heading back to the living room, "We will have tea and then maybe we can see the plants at school," he added as they entered the room.

"Bear." she mumbled with a sniffle. She only had 15 of them, which one did she want? Probably the one she'd tried to brain him with once upon a time.

Hannah was packing up the diaper bag when they came out into the main room, knowing that he'd be tempted to give her foods her little tummy wasn't ready for, like pumpkin juice. Hannah was careful with what she ate, not wanting to deal with exploding poo from the nappy.

"Aw, honey, you want a bear do you? Well, I bet when we get back we can find that bear for you," he offered, not sure if that was the best way to deal with a troubled tot.

He noted Hannah was packing up, and he held Olivia as they walked down the stairs. He stopped at the bottom, and waited for Hannah to come with her cloak and hat and mittens.

"There's snow outside. And we get to take a walk in it. Good fun, right Hannah? I remember these walks when we were students," he said fondly.

Hannah just smiled, "If you tackle me in the snow again, I'll thump you, Neville Longbottom." she promised him as she slipped on her hat and gloves before doing the same for Livey, taking her toy away and putting it down, "We're going bye bye, the toy stays here." she explained as she shifted the little coat on her daughter, charmed to stay warm of course.

Once they were bundled, she stepped outside and waited for him to come out with the toddler before closing the door. Olivia looked at the door mournfully and then started to cry.

Neville took an innocent look on, his words with a mock indignation, "Me? Are you thinking I would do anything like that to you, Ms. Hannah?!" he got out just before the little girl in his arms began to cry. He lost that humorous feeling, and was remorseful, and utterly unsure how to proceed. He knew she was crying for a reason that was important to herself alone, but he wasn't toughened enough to just ignore it.

"Aw Livey, it will be okay," he said as he moved out onto the street. He looked at Hannah, this time for help, but he wasn't sure that she could offer too much. He thought it might be a rather loud visit, this time, with the walk up to the castle. She could even cry during the tea, and he wondered immediately what Severus Snape might think about it, but not in a way that concerned him too to much.

Hannah just gave him a look when he looked at her, "She's fine, she just doesn't want to leave her toy." she explained, allowing the little girl to cry. Sometimes she just had to realize that crying wasn't going to get her her own way.

He returned the look with a small smirk of a grin, "You have to admit, I'm not all that used to a crying Livey yet. Its a good thing you are about to keep me in check or I might end up spoiling her," he said as he held her on his hip and walked at Hannah side.

His thoughts moved from Snape's obvious potential displeasure, part of the motivation for the smirk, to the woman who walked at his side. He stepped closer, to put a free arm around her waist, "So, tell me what your plans are? I know you have a long varied list for the place. Will I be able to help at all?"

"Well I need to get the downstairs entirely clean and then I'm going to have a carpenter come in to do counters and shelf work. I think I've decided on a caramel color, but I do want to get Sue's and Meg's opinions." she said with a small smile, "You will be able to help me when I get plants in."

"Okay," he said as they made their way along the path. Livey was still crying and it was a bit disconcerting, but Neville did his best to not let the little girl stop the flow of the conversation. He was pretty certain that the crying wasn't bothering Hannah very much at all.

"Caramel? Like a sort of tan? That will make the place warm I bet. But I just get to help with the plants?!" he said, teasing her now, "I suppose I can resolve myself to just that."

"Toupe? What is that? Like brownish or something?" he asked, grinning as he turned his head to her. Livey was weeping still, leaning her head against his shoulder as they made their way through the forest.

"Want bear," she lamented between sniffles as she clutched Neville's neck. He patted her back as they walked, "No, no, I am utter rot at decorating. Didn't you come to my flat? It looked...terrible. You let your friends help, of course," he said cheerfully, glad that Livey seemed to be quieting down.

He laughed, more than pleased that she had decided to put her arm about his, "Who said that's what I am buying you for Christmas?"

He turned to look ahead, trying to not grin or show the smirk he had brewing; he was thinking of something more permanent than a plant.

He liked that she was close to him, and he was ready to kiss her, when a few students hurried past them, call out.

"Hello Professor Longbottom," they said in chorus, and then gave a brief back look before they trotted up the steps ahead of the two walking adults. It made Neville's cheeks turn pink, "Well, I expect everyone who went to school here feels that way. It's good, that you are going to be so close to the school. Visits like this can be more frequent," he added as he shifted Livey in his arms and moved them up the stairs slower than the students.

Livey craned her neck to look after the students. Who was that? Could she play with them? The forgotten toy was forgotten. She was curious now. She kicked her feet slightly, "Down now." she demanded.

Hannah glanced at her sullen daughter and then up at Neville, "I think she wants to play, but not on the stairs, please."

Neville looked at Hannah and obediently put the little girl down, taking her hand as he did so, "We can go straight to my rooms. I'm on the main floor, not so very far from the greenhouses. We can have our tea and then go look in them if you'd like," he said as they approached the big doors to open them.

He held it as they passed inside, releasing Livey's hand so that she could move ahead with Hannah. Once it shut behind them, Neville paused, to loosen his cloak as the heat of the inside hit him. The hall was not very crowded but the students that were there looked at them and then looked away; they'd never seen their professor with company.

Hannah moved to take off Livey's coat and held onto the little girl's hand as she looked around, "It's strange to think she'll be here in less then 10 years." she said with a small smile. Hannah glanced over her shoulder at Neville with a slightly bigger smile, "I think we're quite the spectacle for your students, Neville. You'd think they'd never seen a girlfriend before."

Neville waited as she took care of Livey and he nodded, "Well, yes. We are quite the novelty. I expect it will be a subject for talk, but that will change. It will be harmless gossip," he said as he put his hand on her back. When she was ready, they moved down the hall, to pause at the doors to the Great Hall. He glanced in and then at Livey, "Doesn't that look like a nice place to eat? I had thought we might eat dinner there later, if you two want to?"

"Livey will probably want to run around like a crazy girl." she said with a small smile to him, "But sure, we can have dinner here with your students, as long as Snape doesn't have a problem with it."

Hannah didn't want to get into trouble so early. She smiled slightly as she looked at all the students. It just felt like home and calm.

"I don't think he'll mind much, if he's even here. And we'd sit at the Professor's table, so I doubt she'd have as much of a chance to run about," he said as he lead them past the door.

He pointed down a long hall that sided with the courtyard, "My rooms are down here, on the ground level near the greenhouses. It's a bit far from Gryffindor's common room, but its good exercise hiking up and down the stairs. Please,' he said as he lead them along, glancing at Hannah and Olivia with a pleased look on his face.

She followed with Livey as he took them to his place. It was nice that he felt comfortable enough to bring them there. It was just one more puzzle piece that fell into place in the crazy puzzle of her life. He cared. That was so wonderful.

He stopped at a door, the last one in a corridor that ended in doors that led outside. He pulled out his wand, and caste an unspoken unlocking spell, and then turned to open it for her. The chamber that meet his own eyes was large, spacious, with small curved staircase that led up to another small loft, where his bed could be found. The walls were all solid brick, with a few small slats cut into the stone high up, letting a small amount of light inside.

But there was a tapestry that covered the wall, and it was what lit up the room. It showed a sunny scene of a meadow, and the flowers moved in a small breeze, and the trees glowed bright summer green. It covered a huge part of the stone wall, rising up about 20 feet, and it made it seem like it was a huge window, the light of it bright as day. The room was an odd shape, with a small kitchen space in a corner. There was a couch and a comfortable chair facing a fireplace grate, and a table with chairs against one wall. And scattered about were plants, harmless ones that gave the place a feel of life, even surrounded by the cold stone. Thick carpets covered the floor, rust and browns and greens in a plush weave that cushioned a bare foot. There was a small stool by the door, before where the carpet began, and a cloak rack on the wall.

"You can take your shoes off here," he said, as he took Livey's coat and hung it up, following with his own before he accepted Hannah's, "I try my best to keep the place clean and that means taking off the shoes," and he grinned, dimpling, "I don't always remember to do so," he added.

He had laid out the table with a teapot and cups, small plates, all in readiness for their arrival. And on a table near the couch stood an arrangement that was of blossoms and flowers, fragrant. A picture of she and Livey was in a frame next to them.

It was definitely a home, but very much with a male vibe. She bent down and took off Livey's shoes and then followed with her own and her coat, handing them to Neville. Livey started to run around the instant that her mother released her. She smiled slightly to her daughter, "I think she has sufficiently forgotten about the toy." she chuckled as her daughter wandered around, patting plants.

Hannah crossed over to the table beside the couch and picked up the picture, "Where did you get this?" she asked, turning to him.

Neville hung up her coat and he grinned as Livey ran about. He moved to stand beside her and pointed at the dress, "It was from her birthday party. I managed to get a snap from one of your friends who was taking it. See?" he said, pointing to the pretty dress Livey was wearing, "You two looked so happy. I've got others about, one from the beach and those ones from the snow. Remember that day?" he asked, moving his hand to her shoulder and sliding it across to touch her neck. His fingers encouraged her to tip her head, and he gently kissed her lips before pulling back, "I want as many pictures of you here as I can get. I need you with me, always."

"Nothing, really, I promise," he said, thinking about the trinket he had planned to get her. It was a piece of jewelry, something she could wear and it would not be too flashy or ostentatious, he hoped. Something with diamonds, and in the shape of flowers or leaves. And it definitely had to be yellow.

He gave her a small huge, "I might have one or two things I am keeping from you," he confessed, "But they are innocent things, a bit too personal to confess," he added, "You don't want to know all of my manly ways, do you?"
