Padraig slumped down on his couch. Today hadn't been totally bad. They were still working on some major cases, but at least now he was feeling like they were getting somewhere. Which was why when he left the office he was determined not to bring home some files with him. He'd worked on them almost every night since this thing had started and he was ready just to enjoy his evening. Trouble was, it'd been a while and he wasn't sure what he wanted to do. He knew that he'd rather stay in tonight, he really wasn't feeling going out and being around scores of people right now.
He sat there drumming his fingers on his lap before getting up when he decided he couldn't stand the silence any more. He picked up an old rock vinyl and put it on his record player. It was muggle music, something he'd discovered after being out on his own for a while. If any of his family knew, they'd smash it to bits, however, it was his little rebellion, it made him happy, and he was going to enjoy listening to it. Okay, now that he had the music going, now what? He looked around the living room of his cottage and put his hands on top of his head as he thought.
He figured maybe he should eat something, since the sandwich he ate in about three seconds for lunch didn't exactly fill him up. Maybe first he should change out of his work clothes before venturing into the kitchen. He quickly changed into a pair of jeans and a huge warms sweater that was a few years out of date and there was a small hole forming in one of the elbows, but it didn't matter, he was home, and it was his at home sweater. He was about to go into the liquor cabinet to get something to go with dinner when he heard a knock on the door. He turned down the music with a flick of his wand before sticking into his back pocket. He looked out the peep hole and couldn't believe what he saw. He'd figured Harold just came over unexpectedly at the very least, but Tracey, now that was a surprise.
He opened up the door and put a small grin on his face. "Tracey! Hi!" he said blanking on what he should say next. "What's going on? Want to come in?" he said as he felt a breeze come off of the sea which wasn't too far from his home. Couldn't have her freezing half to death, then where would he be?
