Characters: Maeve Sheridan and Delaney Twillfitt Setting: The Lucky Bakery, early Sunday afternoon. Summary: The pair meet up for a long overdue cup of coffee. Awkward conversation ensues. Rating/Disclaimer: TBD, but, um, A for Awkward?
Maeve stared at the back of the head of the person in front of her in line and held in an irritated sigh. Her schedule was not a normal one, she favoured the night time and woke up late and as such had cultivated a schedule that helped her avoid hefty queues such as the current one. But it was the early afternoon break for so many and the line at the coffee shop was longer than what she was used to. All she could do was stare at the head in front of her and focus her blame on them. It didn't help when Blondie got to the front and suddenly realised she could have used that wait time to pick a drink and instead had to stare at the menu board hemming and hawing.
By the time she got through line and waited for her drink, without killing a single soul, she wasn't in the most agreeable moods. She sprinkled cinnamon into her cappuccino and cursed the other coffee drinkers under her breath as she stirred. She hadn't seen Delaney during that excruciating way in line, hard to imagine, but she took a seat in a one of pair of spindly chairs by the shops front window to wait. She glanced back at the door, saw no one familiar, and pulled out her journal to skim through any new entries while she waited for Delaney.
