Who: Orsino Thruston and Astrophel Fleetwood
When: Wednesday early afternoon
Where: Flourish and Blotts
What: A run in of sorts with a stranger.
Rating: TBD
Open/Closed: OPEN- To Orsino Thruston

If Maisie Cattermole approached him at this particular moment of this very day he would not profess knowing her, though he might make a crude remark about wanting to get to know her should she be willing.. or not, as he liked a challenge. If Luna Lovegood, approached it'd be just the same. There seemed to be no telling when this side of him would take over and wreak havoc, but at the moment it was there and there was no telling when it'd leave him be.

His eyes had lost their usual bright, blue hue and darkened so much that it was hard to tell where the pupil ended and the iris began. It was mildly frightening to anyone who tried to offer him a passing smile as he was looking deadly serious if not intimidating with how he refused to smile back.

He ended up in Flourish and Blotts with a strange intention to find a certain book but when someone asked to help him he barked out, "I don't need help," and went about his search on his own, almost frantic in his nature. That was when he turned a corner of a shelf end and almost pitched forward into another wizard. He stumbled backward and blinked heavily, a hint of darkness letting up under his eyes as he did so and a strong curse uttered under his breath.

While he enjoyed having the flat to himself most days when Penny was at Hogwarts, at least once a week Orsino found himself hit with a bout of restlessness. Occasionally, this was brought on by the dogs being too loud, or rowdy, or having not gotten enough sleep the night before. Today, the reason Orsino was now milling about Flourish and Blotts was that the parrot had been repeating the same sequence of numbers since hearing them in an advert on the wireless that morning, and every attempt Orsino made to shut him up had been futile.

At the very least, he liked bookstores, and the weather was nice enough for wandering. With any luck, Orsino thought he might be able to hole up in a corner with something to read, go unnoticed, and head home for dinner. Just as he was reaching for something on some bloke who'd spent a year living amongst a herd of hippogriffs, someone plowed into him.

Orsino was taken aback, and momentarily very annoyed, especially when it seemed that the other person felt wronged by the whole thing. "Oi, watch out," he muttered, throwing the stranger a surly look before shuffling a few feet away and trying to get back to reading the dustjacket.

He tilted his chin back as he righted himself and took a moment to inhale deeply and calm himself, though the urge to hex this man was quite present. It smelled of old shoes.. or perhaps that was the old witch that shuffled briefly between them and down another stack. He tilted his head with an owlish snap, lips pursed for a moment.

He recognized this... wizard. Not as a pureblood or a death eater, but as someone else. Astrophel narrowed those impossibly dark eyes and arched an eyebrow.

"I know you," he stated plainly.

Orsino only vaguely noticed to odd odor emanating from the eldery woman who pushed her way between him and the stranger. He was busier attending to the man's blunt statement of recognition. A thought flashed through his head, something to do with what this man might do if Orsino just walked away with the book. It would be rude, certainly. But any ruder than flying around a corner, bashing into a stranger, and then acting as though they are the problem?

Mulling this over, Orsino reluctantly looked back over to the other man and stared. His eyes looked rather...hazed, somehow. Orsino had seen that look before. It seemed likely that this man was under the influence of some substance, which explained the odd behavior, but made Orsino even less inclined to hang about.

"Er." A quick frown flashed across his face. "I doubt that."

His eyebrows furrowed and he took a step closer and in this was practically invading his personal space for all of ten seconds. Astrophel came so close to Orsino that he could reach out behind him and practically pin him to the shelf but then he rocked back on his heels and pointed a finger.

"You're famous. I know you. I know of you," he muttered. Why it bothered him that he realized this was hard to pinpoint. Something about this man made Astrophel very annoyed. Or perhaps that was just his attitude in general, spilling out over all aspects of his behaviors right now.

"Are you so famous they'd notice if you'd gone missing?"

"Excuse me?"

He blinked rapidly a few times, feeling suddenly very uncomfortable in this man's presence, and stepped to the side to avoid being between the him and the bookcase. His posture straightened, and Orsino folded his arms over his chest, book still in hand.

This was weird. And disturbing. More than usual when someone randomly approached him and acted as though they knew him. If he didn't think this man was not entirely in control of himself, Orsino may have been a bit more alarmed. Instead, he was merely irritated. "Yes, sure."

Giving the man another dark look, Orsino made to walk away.

Walking away wasn't going to happen. Now, he didn't go so far as to bind him with a hex, but he did rush forward to cut him off. Astrophel grabbed at Orsino's arm and cocked his head to the right, dark eyes going wide and lips twisting into an odd smirk.

"Not for long, they'll forget you, maybe attend your funeral, maybe mourn a bit but in the end they'll all forget you, or what'll be left of you," he hissed.

His grip tightened and his free hand twitched, eager to pluck his wand from his robes but something was keeping him from doing so. He was hesitating and the black in his iris was suddenly fluctuating from black to blue and back again.

This situation had passed the point of being merely alarming - Orsino felt threatened now, and it wasn't just the man's grip on his arm or the look in his eyes or even what he was saying. Something instinctual was telling Orsino that this man was just not right, beyond mere intoxication, and potentially dangerous. For once, he felt glad to be in a fairly crowded area. The store wasn't hugely busy, but there were enough people around that Orsino felt any commotion would attract attention.

"Get the hell off me," he said in a low voice, his free left hand moving automatically to the inner pocket of his jacket.

Orsino wasn't quite at the point of doing anything rash, but it was reassuring to know his wand was there. He cast a cursory glance over the man's shoulder, and noticed an employee nearby. Good.

He grew confused, and disoriented. Astrophel drew his hand back quick like Orsino's arm was on fire. He stared hard at his arm and then glanced over his shoulder to see the same employee eying him. He stumbles away and pinches at the bridge of his nose, eyes closing tight.

When he opens them again they are no longer inky black but rather back to their natural and bright blue. He smiles, pleasantly and shakes his head.

"I'm sorry, am I in your way?"

Orsino was utterly baffled. Glad to have the man's hands off him, but otherwise completely confused by what had just happened. The feeling of dread was no longer as strong, but he was still on guard, and his left hand still hovered near his pocket.

He gave his newly-freed arm a shake and looked at Astrophel strangely. Orsino realized the book he'd been mulling over was still in his hand, and his surprise at finding it there caused him to drop it. It hit the floor with a dull thud and fell open to a photo of a trio of hippogriffs tearing into a carcass of some sort.

Orsino stooped to retrieve it, not taking his eyes off of Astrophel. He half expected him to lunge for him again. "Are you joking?"

He looked confused, again. Was he joking? No? He honestly thought he was in this man's way.. why else would he be..

Oh. His eyes widened somewhat.

"No, no.. I'm.. did I..? Oh, oh Godric. Merlin, I didn't..?"

He was now searching his mind for clues as to what he might have done if anything. Now that he thought about it he didn't remember even coming into the bookstore. The last time a blackout like this happened he woke up in his home with deep welts scratched into his neck. He nervously lifted a hand to feel at those scars.

"I'm sorry," he manages, voice breaking.

Only able to stare by now, Orsino straightened back up and took another step back. Apparently this man had no idea what had just happened. Or else he was a very good actor. Though Orsino was of the opinion that none of that had seemed very fake.

He just shook his head, shoving the book back into its place on the shelf rather roughly.

"Look, whatever." The man's distressed tone didn't escape him, but Orsino was still shaken by the unwarranted threats and was having a difficult time feeling any sympathy at the moment. "I don't know what your problem is, but I'd appreciate it if you just left me alone now."

Astrophel was beyond shaken with his own actions. He hardly knew what to say or how to explain himself and suddenly he was paranoid. What if a hit-wizard saw him? Or an Auror? He'd have no excuses now, whether he remembered doing or saying things or not it was still him. His father was dead.

He almost knocked a book display over as he backed up further, wide eyed and clutching at his head.

"Of course," he said breathlessly. Then he turned and hurried out of the shop at once, not daring to look back.
