Who: Luna Lovegood, Agnes McFusty
What: scene Lotto
When: October 17th
Where: The Magical Menagerie after a run through Diagon
Rating/Warning: None

Luna couldn't believe the horrible luck. The first time she decided to take Cyril into Diagon Alley he had managed to slip his collar. Here she was running down the street at breakneck speed chasing down her wayward dog. If she had been anyone else she would probably be mortified, instead in a flurry of "Excuse me!, and Sorrys!" Luna hoped that poor Cyril wouldn't been too trumatized by the whole event.  Seeing him dash through an open door, Luna followed him and by some chance of luck found that they were in the Magical Menagerie. Cyril was a smart dog finding the one place who probably wouldn't yell at her for bringing a pet inside.

Now she just had to find her little monster before he ended up costing her something really pricey. "Cyril! Come here you naughty boy! You've given me quite the run. Now I'm not angry but it's not nice to run through the busy street. You could have gotten lost or hurt. We've really got to work on your manners." Roaming through the aisles, Luna looked for the puppy hoping her voice would coax him out. Chances were he had already found something yummy to chew on. "Oh Cyril, why can't you be a good puppy?"

"Hullo there," Nessie looked down when she heard a whimper from her feet and broke into a smile and the little creature she found. He was collarless and a glance around didn't reveal anyone nearby. She stooped and to pet the talk, forgetting all about the kneazle treats she'd been looking at when the dog rolled over onto his back happily. "Aw, you're not a shy boy at all, are you," she muttered, scratching his belly until she heard a voice coming around the corner and he rolled back over, getting to his feet and scrambling away. "Wait," she called after him, worried he was going to make a break for it.

Clicking her tongue Luna walked through bent over, so far she hadn't glimpsed the fuzzy head of her puppy yet. Sighing she called out again. "Cyril, please! I'll buy you a lovely bone if you'll just come out." Why couldn't this puppy just be good?

Getting down onto her hands and knees, Luna clicked her tongue. "Come here Cyril! We need to go home!"

Nessie clucked her tongue as she followed after the retreating puppy, trying to encourage him to turn back. "Buddy," she called, rounding the corner he'd appeared to skirt around. "Hey buddy," she continued, crouching down to look under any and everything that appeared like it could be wriggled under. "Where'd you g-hullo..." Turning about, Nessie came face to face, a bizarre feet when you were at the level they were, with a young blond woman. She smiled anyway and fell back onto her heels.

Rolling up to her knees, Luna blinked finding herself face to face with a woman rather than her puppy. "Oh hello. You haven't by chance run into a fuzzy brown puppy who's rather disobedient? Have you?" While she loved Cyril terribly, he certainly could be a pain in the rear.

"He seems to have managed to escape me and while he hasn't caused a major incident yet, it's still early and he's young."

"I was just looking for a fuzzy brown puppy," she grinned, putting two and two together. "Seemed like a proper sweetie though. Cyril, was it?" He did look like a Cyril. Nessie looked about their aisle, brow crumpling slightly as she wondered where the dog had gotten to in such a short time. "I did see him," she clarified, hopping to her feet and walking to look around the end of the shelving. "How old is the wee mite?"

Luna nodded, at least Cyril had come through here and she was on the right track. She didn't see how he could move so fast some times and be the equivalent of a sloth other times. "Oh he can be, but right now apparently he's on a grand adventure and is just running wild."

Pushing her hair out of her face Luna sighed, "He's five months and resistant to every single bit of training I've tried on him. He likes my friend's kitten but I was hoping to get him people socialized too."

"Grand adventure is good," Nessie laughed, thinking of dog as some sort of canine Lachlan, staging an expedition through the dense wilds of the pet shop. "Seems alright to me," she continued, looking down the aisle on the other side. "Maybe a little willful." She gave a whistle and waited hopefully. "I've never had a dog, but I'd imagine the basics of training are always the same. Dragons don't really have packs but you still have to be the 'Leader', right? Give them exercise, discipline, affection...Sort of more earning their respect, I guess?" Nessie blinked thoughtfully, she'd never really analysed her handling style but that had sounded like an apt description.

She watched as the woman whistled for Cyril, and hoped the young dog would listen, even if it wasn't to her. "Cyril certainly falls into the willful category. Apparently it's a sign of intelligence but some days I would just settle for dumb but obedient." Luna admitted.

The witch worked with dragons so a wayward puppy must seem rather simple to her. "I'm not as good with the discipline as I ought to be I admit but everything else I'm right on. He's just so darling and he's supposed to be my companion."

Walking down the aisle past her, Nessie went to check the other end. "I'd rather have both," she said quite earnestly, taking a moment to consider the two different options.

She disappeared around the corner, still talking as she went, unaware that Luna wasn't following her. "Aye, he can be your companion and still have discipline," she mused. "It's more about being the Alpha, assertive, more so than being mean." She spotted the puppy near a basket of toys, crouched down in a pounce position, tail waggling excitedly, as he watched a little stuffed dragon fly in circles, waiting for his moment. "There you are, buddy."

"Can you have both from one body though?" Luna asked cocking her head, curious about the answer. People tended to go one way or another she found very polarized about certain people even. She watched other woman walk away still talking as she realized that she should probably follow.

"Oh, I'm not sure I'm a very good Alpha anything. Does that make me a bad owner?" Luna gave a concerned frown, wouldn't it just be her luck to be a bad owner due to her own in abilities.

Thankfully they found Cyril, unharmed about to pounce on a toy dragon she already knew would probably be coming home with them.
