WHO: Angelina Johnson and Padraig Montague
NPCs: Unhelpful clerk in the hitwizards office.
WHAT: Alicia's missing! Angelina puts in the complaint, but it's less than 24hrs.
WHEN: October 16
WHERE: Ministry of Magic!

"Listen, the regulation is that someone has to be missing for 24 hours before any sort of report can be made." The clerk said in a calm, slightly annoyed tone that said she'd been having to say that often these days.

"Oh, blow it and your damn regulations out your ass!" Angelina said loudly venom seeping from her voice. She was freaked out, scared, worried, and right now nothing but super angry at this idiot in front of her. "I don't care. I'm her bloody roommate and I'm telling you she's missing." She was suddenly wishing she'd at least called the twins to come with her.

The clerk looked annoyed. "You think you're the only person who's been-"

Angelina's hands met the desk hard as she leaned forward menacingly. "It's Alicia Spinnet. She was missing once before, yeah? So get off your arse and do something!"

"You need to come back."

Angelina let out a frustrated scream. "And you wonder why no one fucking trusts the ministry of bloody magic to do anything!"

It was one of those days, and by the sounds that were coming from down the hallway, it was going to keep on being one of those days. As soon as he heard the yelling from down the hall, Padraig put down his glass of water from the break room and made his way down there to see what was going on.

He sighed when he saw Angelina yelling at the clerk, trying to figure out who was looking more annoyed at the minute. "Actually, is there something I can do for you?" he said just trying to get Angelina away from the clerk, trying to prevent some epic throw down or something. "Why don't we step into my office, yeah?" and by office he meant cramped cubicle down the hall, but he said all business like none the less.

Oh yes, the last thing she wanted to deal with right now was Mr. Vanishing Cabinet, but Merlin, at least he looked official, and at least she could get somewhere talking to him maybe.

Merlin, she should have just asked for Ron straight away. But it would seem that he said the magic words because Angelina did stop yelling. She still looked angry as could be, but at least she had stopped yelling. She ran a hand through her hair and followed him, shooting the clerk a really dirty look as she followed him.

Once in the cubicle she didn't sit, and defensively started in on him just because she thought he might give her the same run around the clerk had.

"Alicia Spinnet is missing." She started suddenly. "I know, regulation or whatever, but if you look you'll find a file somewhere as thick as your bleeding head for her!" She wasn't exactly yelling again, but she did sound a bit frantic. And she was going to explain exactly why she thought she was missing. "I've lived with her since I was eleven years old. I know her, and after she got..." She shook her head.

"She's predictable. Ever since she got back from that bastard, she leaves at certain times, comes back at certain times, doesn't go out at night by herself. There's no fucking way in the world she goes to the store and doesn't just decide to not come home. So you can take all your bloody regulations and stuff them up the minister's ass."

Padraig just sat down and leaned back in his chair as he listened to Angelina went off. It took him a moment to recall all of this. Of course he knew who she was talking of, they'd all gone to school together, but it took him a moment to recall the case. He'd been a rookie when they found Alicia. It was huge accomplishment for his department, especially a lot of people considered her dead.

"Stall the ball there for a moment Johnson." he said calmly, singling for her to take a freaking breath there for a moment. "I'm not the enemy here," he reminded her. Okay, they hadn't been on the best of terms due to, well, Paddy's tendencies to be an ass. "Calm down and I'll see what I can do, okay?"

"How long has she been missing?" he asked first, not in a condescending or regulatory way, but in a serious and clam way, making sure he got all of the facts. Missing people just seemed to be happening lately. Go figure, working on the Elkins case, and now this. Maybe they were related, maybe not, who knew. The only way to figure this out was take it one step at a time, make sure nothing got over looked.

Angelina was determined to not cry in here. It wouldn't get anything done, but she felt like it. She finally sank into the small free seat in his cubicle. Hey, put a stop to that frantic pacing before it even started.

She went to look at her watch, but in her franticness to get here she hadn't tossed it on. "Since about 8, last night." She said, shaking her head. "She apparated into town for some groceries." Jesus, she should have gone with her. She'd offered to, Alicia had told her not to that she wouldn't be gone long. "She didn't come back, I feel asleep on the couch waiting for her, and she wasn't there in the morning. We go to Harpies practice together." She looked at him, she knew him from school. "You remember her. Nothing's keeping her off a broom." She pointed out still sounding frantic, but at least more calm.

Realizing how freaked Angelina was right now, he sat up straight, got out some paper, and a quill and started making notes. She was right about one thing though. "You're right, we're not supposed to be looking for people until after 24 hours, however," he said looking up at her for a moment. "in light of recent events, and given Alica's history, I'll see what I can do. I can't promise anything, but I'll do what I can okay?" he said, he'd always tried not to make promises. He'd learned that after the first time he'd promised he'd find someone alive and well, they didn't turn up alive. That's been too hard of a lesson on him.

If it had been any other time he might have messed with Angelina a little bit, but like he said before, he was forced into taking this stuff seriously. Besides, it was made him good at his job. And he didn't want to be the guy that found something and ignored it only to have it come back and bite him in the arse later. "Okay, what town did she go into? Do you have the name of the grocer, or anyone who might have seen her?" he asked trying to cover his bases right now.

Alright so Angelina may have looked like she was going to start arguing loudly again, when he told her she was right about the 24hrs. He was damn lucky he got to the 'however' part of the statement so quickly. So instead she felt a bit relieved. She nodded to show that she understood, and she did notice that he hadn't promised anything.

So she played with her fingers in her lap as she listened closely to all his questions. "We live outside of Minehead in West Somerset." Yes, they were in the country, but it was easiest to live magically there. Especially since you could just apparate where ever. That normally where we pop to for the shopping." She said shaking her head. "Normally we just go to the Village Shop if it's just snack food, and One Stop if it's more. So it was one of those two places." She shook her head. "I don't know if anyone saw her. She did't make a habit of starting conversations."

Padraig wrote down everything Angelina said, making notes here and there as ideas and procedures came to him. He would later take this and turn it into a list, as the paper he was currently working on was messy and pretty much only made sense to him, but it was how his brain worked and no seemed to be complaining of that. He nodded his head as he wrote trying to think of anything else he might be able to add.

"Are you going to be around for a while? Like, not planning any big trips or anything?" he started, a pretty standard question. "Just in case we need anything, or find something?" he clarified.

"I, uh," he started setting down his quill. "I'm sorry this happened." he said trying to put on a small grin, it wasn't working well, but he was trying.
