Draco didn't particularly consider her a girlfriend in any official sense, they'd been on again and off again through the last few years and he honestly couldn't remember after the tension of last year and this summer where exactly they stood, but he did feel enough of an obligation to what she might be to blink away from the fire and turn to acknowledge her.
"Pansy," His voice sounded tight, and he cleared his throat and then gave a quick shake of blond hair. "Not disturbing me. I'm obviously not doing anything to disturb. Did you enjoy watching the Quidditch trials?"
Being with her now was strange. He'd always assumed that he'd marry her, once they were out of school. Likely because he assumed that she assumed it, and he hadn't bothered much to care about it when there were things like joining the Death Eaters and following his Father to care about. Now, when he looked at her, that strange doubling he'd been feeling since last year came up stronger than most other times, and he felt sure that his assumptions were wrong - but he didn't know why.
