After an exhausting day at work, Tonks had been looking forward to a comfortable evening at home curling up with Remus and watching Gabe colour or play. It wasn't easy being away from her family all day, and lately she'd been considering cutting her hours. The only thing stopping her was the finances.
Family was the most important thing in her life; her mother, her husband, her son, and being away from them was hard. Unnatural, in a way. As much as she loved her job, she loved Remus and Gabe more, and she supposed that was the plight of everyone who worked such long hours.
Entering the kitchen, she set her things down in a chair and wrapped her arms around Remus, dropping a kiss on his neck. "I've missed you. Ten hours is a long time. Where's Gabe?" She noticed the crayons on the table, though they were neater than Gabe would have left them. "Did I just miss him?"
