Greg Goyle ([info]a_reticent_git) wrote in [info]wished,
He had a small cloth and was wetting it as Theo began to explain. It was one of the first times that Theo's logic was sharper, clearer in his delirium. And that in itself was of more concern. How could he be more rational and still manage to kill a kitten he loved, smothering it or strangling it so that it couldn't get out? Greg found his confusion lifting slightly to be replaced by a type of dread. This was new; this was something he was not as equipped to handle.

He began to carefully lift and wash Theo's arms and turned to his bloodied face, now fresh with tears. Those made Greg's confusion returned and he found himself pulled into that sorrow. His own eyes pricked with tears and he scrubbed an arm across his own face as he focused on gently cleaning Theo's face. His words were gruff to mask his own jumble of emotions, "Stupid cat. You..you..it will be okay Theo. It..it weren't very smart to do that," he said, making excuses.
