He had powder sticking to his hands and his arms and he had a blue pair of pants in one hand and a bright green shirt in the other, having turned to get her something to wear just after he'd set her down. He was a few steps behind her as he watched Hannah scoop up the crying girl.
He stood up, and gave her a weak smile, "I'm not very good at this, I'm afraid," he said apologetically, "I probably would be better at the breakfast," he said again, even as he moved forward to kiss Hannah's cheek as he reached up to pet Olivia's head. He stopped when he realized what a mess he was, not wanting to get the stuff in her hair.
"Maybe I should watch how you do it, so I can do it properly next time."
