Zach wasn't as hesitant to make the decision as Merlin was, and the Seer was guilty enough about what he had Seen that he went along with it, although Zach's words confused him. It wasn't that he didn't trust Zach anymore - well no, it was, but then he didn't give his trust away lightly and not to anyone so there was really no difference there. No, here he didn't trust himself.
Regardless, he kept his mouth shut and followed Zacharias along, relieved when he had his hand back and taking the helmet to put over his head; the weight and fit was familiar and he tried not to let himself be pulled back into reminiscence.
He watched Zach lead the animal out and approached a little warily as animals sometimes reacted... 'unfavourably' towards him. Ransom didn't seem to mind him though and Merlin reached to pat and then pet the horse's neck, his hand flat against the smooth coat. "Ransom hm?" he said quietly, reaching his other hand out as the horse looked over and letting it snuffle against his empty palm.
