Who: Orsino Thruston and Donaghan Tremlett (possible guest appearance by the Terrible Trio?)
When: Tuesday, 28 September. Early afternoon.
Where: Orsino's flat.
What: Trying to determine what to sell/donate to charity/turn into ~art~.
Rating: Low, maybe language.

The story about tripping over a cymbal stand and nearly spraining something had been completely true. Still, it wasn't exactly why Orsino decided, yesterday, that it was time to start clearing out the excess of instruments he had hidden away in that spare room. They'd just continued to accumulate over the years, more than he thought they might when he first got the place. It had seemed like a perfect room - out of the way, big enough to qualify as a guest bedroom for guests he rarely had (and, when he did have them, who rarely needed a guest room anyway). Which was why its purpose had been much better spent this way.

All this thinking about new albums and weddings and even moving altogether had Orsino in a bit of an odd mood, though. He felt like he needed to start getting rid of extra...stuff. And, yes, Don was right - if he tried to do it by himself, the likelihood of him getting rid of enough for it to matter seemed low. He really hoped Don was going to bring beer, though. And not a trio of three-year-olds. He knew there was only so long the two dogs could keep them occupied. As he began to evaluate the relevancy of a set of toms he hadn't properly used in seven years, he heard Eight whining and wondered if the help had arrived.

Don was looking forward to getting to go over to Orsino's place, just the two of them. It seemed like it had been forever since he'd actually gotten out the door without the twins. He'd already told Elizabeth and she was prepared to deal with the triplets alone later in the day. But the best laid plans, well, they don't typically stay laid out well. It was still the earlier in the morning when the phone rang and Don could tell something was going on. Elizabeth had come to him, a frown on her face and an apology already spilling out of her mouth. Her mum had a flat and Elizabeth was the only one close enough to come and help her. She had a car load of groceries just waiting to defrost and be ruined and she needed to get them home, change her flat, take the tire somewhere to be fixed... She needed Elizabeth.

He'd told her it was ok, he understood. She'd be gone most of the day, but it couldn't be helped. He thought of sending a message off to Orsino to tell him they needed to pick a different day to do this. He didn't though. Sure the plans had changed, but he could still help. The beer would have to be a no go though. He couldn't conceivably see totting around any alcohol when he'd have his kids. So instead of a bag of goodies for him and his friend he used magic to overstuff the baby bag, taking toys, extra clothes, diapers, cleaning clothes, a play pen of sorts and various other things he'd need to keep the triplets occupied while visiting Orsino.

And of course he got the kids ready only when it was closer to time to go. He set off then, making his way in a very muggle fashion to Orsino's place. It was a difficult trip, using public transportation to get to there since Elizabeth had their only mode of transportation that was safe for the kids. He made it though and he grinned, lifting a hand to knock on the door. And when it opened he quickly handed one of the triplets off to Orsino. "Here, hold him for me. Thanks."

Orsino was ready to make a comment on Don's showing up somewhat later than planned, when he was suddenly assaulted with a toddler. Damn. The kid looked at him vaguely, almost as if sizing him up. Orsino didn't like that look. It was oddly shifty for someone who couldn't even tie his own shoes yet. Making a small sound of protest, Orsino stood aside to let Don enter with the remaining two. He looked again at the Tremlett-spawn in his arms, trying to remember which it was. No luck.

"Who's this again?" he asked, sounding already weary of the whole thing.

At this point, no amount of complaining would get rid of the kids - if he wanted Don's help, he'd have to put up with this set back. And he assumed there was some sort of explanation why his request for alcohol had been interpreted as a request for three unruly children.

Don’s grin was apologetic when he looked at Orsino. He seriously hadn’t planned on coming over with the triplets though he wondered if he’d believe that. More than likely Orsino would think he’d done it on purpose. Other times he would have, but today he’d honestly been looking forward to just getting together with Thrusty and drinking some and going through his stuff while they talked. Or something. Anything that didn’t involve little kids was sounding like absolute heaven to him. It was also sounding like a crazy dream that would never occur. He might have to cry.

“Who’s who?” Don asked distractedly as he moved into Thrusty’s place. He glanced back at him and saw him looking at the kid he was holding and held back a laugh. “You’ve got the little thief there. Better watch it or you might end up missing something.” He did wonder how he ended up getting his sticky little hands on some of the things he did.

Now though Don’s full attention was back on the two he was holding and the baby bag. Carefully he sat them down while just letting the baby bag thump onto the floor. “Stay here with me and be good,” he muttered sternly, giving them a look before he crouched down and started rifling through the bag. “Got to find the pen...” He gave a triumphant “Ah-ha!” when he located it and pulled it out, drawing his wand at the same time. Magic was lovely when packing a baby bag. A quick spell and it was back to its normal size and set up in Thrusty’s front room without any fuss. “In you go, you little buggers,” he said, picking up the two with him and swinging them over the rails and setting them inside.

“You can bring him over here and put him with his brothers,” Don said, facing Thrusty for only a moment before crouching back at the bag again, pulling out toys and enlarging them just as quickly and putting them in the pen. He’d almost brought the training toilet with him before he decided it’d be easier to just forgo it and take them to the bathroom if one of them said they had to go. Would Orsino mind? “Uh, just so you know, we are working on potty training them, so... If you hear one of them mention having to potty, just let me know?” And if he smelt one, well Don would deal with that too.

Orsino blinked several times and let out a long sigh as he set down the third boy. As per Don's warning, he let his eyes linger on the boy's hands and pockets before returning his attention to the only other adult present. "Toilet training?" Try as he might, he couldn't hide a grimace. But he left it there - it could be worse. "Yeah, OK."

For a few more moments Orsino stared at the three kids, wondering if that pen was really going to hold them, and if any of them had started showing any signs of early, and uncontrolled, magic.

"So," he began, clapping his hands together sharply and looking back to Don. "Time for some terribly exciting downsizing."

Don was greatly amused by Thrusty’s reaction to the kids. He definitely looked like he wasn’t in a zone he was comfortable with, especially when the toilet training was brought up. He’d try to make this as easy on his friend as he could, but he couldn’t just stop the potty training because Orsino was iffy of it. “Yes, toilet training. I promise I won’t ask you to take them.” He wouldn’t promise that he wouldn’t ask for help if one of them, or more, needed a diaper change though.

His eyes moved over the three tykes in the pen and all the toys, taking it all in again. He wanted to make sure that everything was how it needed to be for them. He definitely didn’t want to start to just get called away again immediately because he’d forgotten to give them something. Content that they had all the distractions they’d need he pulled out a magical baby monitor and sat it near the pen and clipped the other to a belt loop on his pants.

“Oh yes, terribly exciting. I bet you’ve just been a ball of excitement waiting for this,” Don replied, turning away from the kids to give his attention to Orsino. “I know how much you enjoy cleaning.”

"I like cleaning," Orsino said, a little defensively. "And I've been positively bouncing off the walls since you agreed to help. Penny might not come back tonight, it was so alarming."

Nudging Seven out of the way, he began to make his way over to the unofficially titled Music Room. He hadn't made very much headway at all. To anyone who hadn't been in here much, it probably looked like an elaborate death trap. Or a miniature music store crammed into a small room. Either way, it was intimidating.

"I think..." Pausing in the doorway, Orsino put his hands on his hips and leaned back slightly. "Er. Right. Maybe we start...well, the oldest stuff's in the back right corner."

Don’s look was more than a little doubtful at Orsino’s words. “Sure you do.” Just like how Don liked it when the Weirdies sent him elaborate schemes of how they could get together without Elizabeth interfering or the notes where they honestly thought that Don was hooking up in secret with one of his band mates and how hot it was. “And I’d think Penny might not come back tonight because of either work or the fact she doesn’t want to br roped into helping us clean.”

When he noticed the dog he couldn’t help but be worried for both of the ones that Orsino owned. Don remembered just what it was the three of them had done to his parents dog and the fact that it absolutely refused to come near the triplets again. Hopefully though Seven would have enough sense to stay out of reach of the kids since they were in the play pen.

The room made Don blinked. He hadn’t realized that Thrusty had this much! No wonder he needed help. Orsino was definitely a major packrat. “Probably ought to start back there then,” Don replied, shoving Orsino further in the room from behind him. “Work our way out of the room.”
