The one direction she didn't want the conversation to go. Her smile faltered for a moment as she quickly looked down at her tea and ran her fingers through her hair. Her engagement or rather, what was her engagement was definitely a touchy subject. She called it off because she knew that she wasn't ready to get married, she also tried to prove that they weren't by telling him that both of them barely had time to see each other. Of course, Susan tried to make herself feel better about that decision by claiming they didn't have time, but to be honest, she just wasn't ready to get married. Ernie was the first boy she ever dated, the first boy she ever kissed.
She knew how all her friends felt about her being with Ernie, they all knew they were meant be. Yet, Susan knew she had to get out, just for a little bit. Just to get her thoughts straight, and make sure that marrying Ernie was the right thing for her.
Clearing her throat, gaze finally lifted to look at him. "Ernie. Ernie Macmillan. He was a Hufflepuff from my year, made into Head Boy. A Prefect before then." Tilting her head to the side, she smiled.
