susan bones will try to fix you. (susy_b) wrote in wished,
Of course it would be surprise. Susan just smiled and nodded, if there was one thing true about Susan it was that she was incredibly patient. It's what made her a true Hufflepuff, and made so easy to get along with. She felt it best if things - any sort of things - weren't rushed. Besides, the thrill of the anticipation that came from a surprise was exciting enough. Her mind went wild with ideas, everything from ice cream in Hogsmeade to more fantastical ideas like traveling somewhere far off to see dragons. Merlin, if Marcus was a mind reader, he would probably find Susan's thoughts to be absolutely nutters.
Eyes closed the moment they were outside, instinctively she held on a little tighter as Marcus began to prepare to apparate. Merlin, that was one of the worse feelings ever. One of her biggest fears was being splinched, that fear usually made her reluctant to apparate alone. However, the moment the sounds of Diagon Alley were replaced with sounds from the countryside, Susan opened her eyes.
Gasping, she looked around, head tilting up to see the large oaks towering above her. "Holy Helga..." She sighed breathlessly and looked around. Her grip on his arm loosened before she dropped it all together to study the closest plot of plants near them. "Oh Merlin, this place is brilliant. It's amazing, Marcus, is this where you live?" Green eyes darted to look at Marcus before her attention was drawn to the sprawling country manor behind him. Jaw dropped slightly as she brushed past him to get a better view of his home. "That's... that's...?" Glancing back at Marcus, Susan couldn't fathom living in such opulent conditions. Despite being a pureblood, she was not high society. She came from a long line of Ministry workers ranging from aurors to Wizengamot council members to Unspeakables to Department Heads. None of them were really... rich. They weren't poor, but they lived in homes. Houses that had three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room and normal things.... never.... mansions. Merlin, if there was ever a time to seem poor, it was right then there as she stood there gaping at the Flint's Manor.
