Eddie listened carefully as Marguerite spoke, taking in what she said. Of course, he had his own reasons to be back here and he had a slight feeling that perhaps her situation might not be too different from his own, details swapped out and all. He smiled with a hint of compassion behind it.
"Ah, then we are not so different, as it would be," he said smoothly, as if possessing great knowledge of the universe (a trait which he often made gregarious efforts to project onto those to whom he was speaking), then continued, smirking confidently at her as her stiletto touched his leg, "I have traveled very much myself, in pursuit of the freedom of the escape. I think, truly, that staying one place for too long will only bring about a desire to uproot oneself; that remaining sedentary would only lead to boredom."
