Who: Zacharias Smith and Meghan McCormack.
When: September 23rd. Afternoon.
Where: Diagon Alley. The Lucky Bakery.
What: A run in. Over coffee.
Rating: Low.
Status: Incomplete/Closed.

With errands out of the way (necessary and ones that he couldn't trust a House Elf with or trust a shop keep with if he sent in a mail order - namely, getting some Quidditch supplies), and the parcels sent home with his Owl (who, after all these years, knew how to treat things gently!), Zacharias decided he needed a bit of a snack to tide him over until supper. And also, a cup of coffee.

Since he was already in Diagon Alley, he headed to the Lucky Bakery, which was the perfect place for both coffee and something tasty. Zacharias walked with confident strides - he always moved through any place as if he owned it - and soon enough he was there, and pushing through the doors.

The scent of baked goods, breads and sweets, surrounded him and he inhaled, because it was very pleasant. The smell of coffee mixed in, and his stomach did a little twist to tell him that yes, this had been a very good idea.

Joining the small line at the counter, he perused the bakery case that showed all the individual items - slices of sweet breads, and scones and muffins and cupcakes, artfully decorated, and danishes and donuts and other things. Zacharias was musing over what to get when he realized a familiar head of red hair was in front of him - and attached to that, was a familiar woman. A Quidditch rival, and also, the girlfriend of his own team Captian.

Zacharias gave an easy grin. "Hello, Meghan."

Oh, coffee. What Meghan wouldn't give for a good, strong cup, but they said it wasn't good for the baby. She pouted internally at the scent as she looked over the variety of sweet breads and other baked goods that surrounded her. She was craving something sweet and thought she might perhaps bring home enough to share with Oliver.

"Hello, Zacharias," she returned pleasantly, turning around to grin at the familiar voice behind her. She knew some of Oliver's teammates (and her own) weren't thrilled with her relationship with him, but Zach had always been pleasant enough to her. "How are you?"

That smile stayed on his face as Meghan turned around. "Oh I'm well, thank you," Zacharias said, well mannered as always. At least, as he always was around people that he liked. He could be downright rude (on purpose) to people he didn't like!

"How are you?" He had heard the rumour that she was pregnant, but of course she didn't look it. Not yet, anyway. "Are you going to be playing this season?" he asked her curiously as the line moved up another step, putting Meghan one from the front.

Meghan and Oliver had decided some time ago to tell their teammates of her condition, but out in public, she wasn't going to speak about it candidly and she gave a little shrug when he questioned her.

"I'm hoping to," she answered honestly, hoping he wouldn't press that line of questioning. Maybe it was naive, but she was hoping to keep things from the press for as long as she possibly could and it was true that she hoped she'd be able to play this season, whether or not it was a practical hope.

Zacharias tilted his head to the side and considered this. He was quick enough, clever enough, to recognize a vague answer when he got one, and he could figure out (or at least suspect) the reasoning behind it. And fair enough.

"Well, I'll see you on the pitch," then he said with a little grin curving his lips. His eyes darted to the pastery case then. "What are you having?" he asked her, because the little old lady in front of her, who was digging coins from her coin purse one at a time was nearly done.
