Kirley McCormack-Duke ([info]kirleymcduke) wrote in [info]wished,
“We’re going to have to apparate. It’s a bit of a walk from here,” her informed her. Part of him almost wanted to just take up residence on their bench and chat the night away with her. He didn’t want to have to share her with anyone else.

Her little sentiment made his heart turn over...so few people called him that where it actually pulled a reaction from him, but she most certainly did. He held tightly to her as he disapparated, taking her with him to the familiar street.

“It’s just this way,” he said once they gained their bearings, “I hope that you’re going to love it. It’s a little muggle place. I found it a few years ago, and now I’m a regular,” he smiled, tempted to just toss an arm around her shoulders and hold her close while they walked, but he contented himself with holding onto her hand.

He led her up towards a little door that didn’t quite look like much with a sign overhead that read, “Carrington’s Place.” There was soft music playing already, and as soon as he led her through the door, the atmosphere was both soothing and exciting. Friends sat around tables together laughing, and there were a lot of people watching the current girl on the stage who was singing a bit off-key, but no one really cared. A few people called out his name in greeting and he gave a cursory wave. This place felt a bit like home.
