It was delicious this waiting for her to find the courage to give him an answer. Something in the back of Bradley’s mind warned him that this girl was pure and naïve and innocent; not the type of lass he should involve himself with. However, that little voice was distant and not nearly as powerful as Jill’s allure. She was so far away from the sort of gal he normally pursued slashed dated that she was unbelievably fresh and enchanting he was lost to her before they’d even begun. That of course could be a good thing, but for a bloke like Bradley it was very bad. He was not the sort to easily remember that others (especially ladies) did not share his non-contemporary views on relationships.
While they walked through the market he retrieved a few more items and placed them in his cart. The moments of silence while she summoned and answer gave him a valid excuse to almost openly stare. And stare he did, drinking her in like she was a fine wine. Finally at the counter he began unloading all of their items, though his gaze was predominantly on her.
“Fantastic.” The cashier rang up their items, he paid swiftly before she found her voice to protest. It took little effort for him to gather all their bags and still be able to grip his wand. “Let’s apparate there, much neater and all that.” Once more he took control and headed outside, looking back with that dashing smile to be sure she was coming along. “Just tuck your arm in my darling and we’ll be off!” Bradley would wait for her to slip her small hand onto his arm.
