Characters: Samantha Capper and Ginny Weasley
Setting: Early Saturday Evening on the Quidditch Pitch
Summary: Ginny's frustrated with boys and chooses the most obvious candidate to rant to.
Rating/Warnings: PG-13 at most, some mild cursing
If there was one thing that Sam did not consider made for a fun or exciting evening running was definitely an obvious choice. After Ginny's leading request, Sam promptly gathered her things and headed down to the pitch, her friend's routine well known to her after five years of friendship. Once she was down the front steps and walking out across the lawn, Sam glanced around and lit up a cigarette. She inhaled deeply and counted up what she had left in her pack, realising she had to start pacing herself or she'd be owling Chester sooner than expected. The extra free periods they had this year for study sessions she simply hadn't been accounted for.
Pushing through the gate to the pitch, Sam glanced at the stands for a moment before heading instead for the grassy field. At the far edge she saw the flash of red she'd expected as Ginny jogged round the bend. She felt she was likely to get exhausted just watching her. Placing her case down, Sam settled herself beside it, wrapping her arms around her knees. Finishing off her cigarette, she sat comfortably, content to watch Ginny's progress each time she passed in front of her.
Ginny passed behind her again and Sam stabbed out the fag, falling onto her back to watch the darkening sky as she waited. It hadn't felt that long since she was last out here with Ginny but it still somehow felt like longer at the same time. Her mind replayed the night for her, the closeness she'd missed all summer, and she smiled. If it hadn't been for the friends she had or the pesky fact she wasn't of age yet she really would have considered not coming back. She hadn't admitted it to Ginny yet and now that she was back she really wondered if she would have been able to go through with it anyway.
