Zacharias was more of a cat person than a dog person (because cats took care of themselves, which he appreciated in an animal). But he didn't have anything against dogs, and he crouched down so he could pet Diana on the head and let her sniff - and lick - his hand.
"How has it been, having her around?" he asked as he slid his fingers over the warm fur, and then rightened himself to stand once again, taking hold of his broomstick once more. "I think it is one of those things you don't ever quite forget." He knew he could never, in a million years, forget how to fly.
