"I played it safe," she admitted softly. Saying it out loud had her feeling much worse about it than she thought she felt. Lyra had done a good job at forgetting the fact that she turned a blind eye. She refused to talk about the rising darkness, never joined the D.A. never did anything and she wanted to.
But her father's words haunted her. What he could remember stayed with her every waking moment and she was scared. Now, though, she knew there was no reason to have ever been so frightened and there was no reason to be frightened now.
"I was fine, I think.. if my father didn't ask me to play it that way I'd have joined the D.A., you know? I'm safe now, I think everyone is... don't you?"
