Alfie had just closed up the grocer's stall for the day - business had slowed back down to normal now that the World Cup tourists had gone back to their own countries, but he'd still sold out almost everything and he took what was left - just a few apples and oranges - to the Hag Society in Knockturn and left feeling as creepy and slimy as he usually did leaving Knockturn, patting his pockets to be sure his wallet and things were still there.
He had a little bit of shopping to do, so he didn't pop straight home. Instead he walked the Alley a bit, and at the new bookshop he stopped, then went in. Julien had been feeling bad since the Cup final for forgetting about it - he thought he could get him something here to cheer him up.
