"I think that any self-respecting woman despises men like that." Which gave her pause before she added, "And probably some men despite men like that too. He gives them a bad name." Which was true. He was the type of man that caused some women to swear them off. "Some of us would pay good money to be witness to that."
Anabel rolled her eyes when she was Brunnings and the look he was giving Delaney. She was certain he thought it was a 'come hither' look that was absolutely irresistible, but in reality it made him look like the leech he was. But as long as he didn't come near she was content to ignore him. Then again even if he did come over she might step back and let the other woman have at him. It would certainly be a way to exercise some energy and get a little enjoyment out of the day. Unfortunately it looked like he wasn't going to.
"Of course. Remember to get in touch with me whenever if you have any questions." And she meant it. She wouldn't extend this courtesy to many. "I'll make certain to get in touch with you soon. And I"ll definitely be contacting you over the journals soon enough." Which was the truth. She wanted to make sure that the other woman dealt with the news in a good manner.
She watched as Delaney paid the money she owed and left. Anabel stayed at the desk for a few moments longer, making sure that the other woman had plenty of time to be good and away from St. Mungo's. After all she didn't think for a moment that Brunnings wouldn't actually go out and try to find her to talk go her again and she wanted to give her at least a little reprieve from that. And once she was certain that she was good and gone she turned and headed back to work, shooting a dark look at Brunnings that sent him jogging away from the desk quickly where he'd been trying to convince the desk worker for the file Anabel had just turned in.
