Delaney had been beginning to think coming down to St Mungos had been a terrible idea. This Anabel person, who had at least seemed rational by the way she spoke in the journals, was nowhere to be seen, and this... this... insect of a man was refusing to be anything approaching helpful.
He seemed to think that he was in some way attractive to her - at least his demeanor suggested that he rather thought she was there to take him into a supply closet and shag him, not get checked out for food poisoning as had been her actual intention. Her expression was getting darker and darker, and he just kept talking.
Delaney wasn't sure if he was so arrogant he didn't think the scowl on her face was aimed at him, or if he was just too stupid to see it, but she was on the verge of pulling out her wand and hexing him into oblivion when an attractive dark haired woman materialized, saving her from doing something she'd likely get arrested for.
Sneering at him as he left, wishing she had hexed him after all for daring to breathe the same air as her, Delaney followed Anabel down the hall.
"Thank you," she said dryly, indicating the little weasel with a nod of her head. "I was about to have to turn him into a beetle, and I'm sure the Ministry takes a pretty dim view of that sort of thing."
