"Professor," Severus replied, glancing briefly up from his reading. Apparently Trimble had decided to remember his manners, and so long as it continued he really had no desire to make much of a point of it. "Your classes are proceeding smoothly, I hope." The way he had lowered his face immediately into his book relayed, he hoped, how little he was interested in the answer. It really was too early to tell - and he suspected Trimble probably had a tendency to boast, and didn't want to sit through anything of the sort. The man reminded him strongly of a couple of people he had once disliked intensely. His expectations outside of the academic sphere were quite low. "I'm sure your great-grandfather is eager to speak with you."
