It wasn't very often that he felt nervous about something. Sure, he wasn't the most brazen of his friends, but he was a social being. He liked people, and he liked all sorts...but he wasn't used to liking girls that were thirteen years younger than him quite so much.
He hadn't taken it quite as she thought he might, but he had to admit that if one wanted to read into it, it did sound a bit like a serious come on. Still, he had...well, maybe he fancied her a bit. After all...ever since he'd asked her to marry him that day in the park, he'd been out of his head with crazy thoughts.
He pondered the thought for a moment, but in his heart of hearts he already knew what he would do. Part of him screamed that he should walk away...that she was young and he would only hold her back from anything she wanted to do in her life. She was nineteen...he was in his thirties. She should find some nice twenty year old boy...but then again...
He reached out to twirl a loose strand of her hair around his finger, watching it for a moment, his eyes glancing up to hers. What could be the harm in one kiss? Besides...she had asked him. It made him feel less like he was seducing her. He was struck with the feeling that he was born about ten years too soon...that he should have been younger for someone like her.
He moved ever so slightly, the hand that had been twirling her hair gently touching her cheek. This was her first kiss...it had to be right, perfect. He leaned in and gently kissed those lips that he loved to see turned up in a smile. It was simple...gentle and chaste and sweet. Everything that a first kiss should be. He pulled back and surveyed her expression, not quite sure what to say for once.
