It was a bit sobering, trying to look at house elves from another perspective. Though she was always polite and pleasant to them, Evie had gone her whole life assuming they enjoyed what they did, and it was only now she realised she could have been wrong about it the whole time. She told herself that from now on, she would try not to take the elves for granted.
It was starting to make her a little hot and uncomfortable under the collar, thinking that she might have contributed to the oppression of another race, no matter how minor the contribution. She leaped on Greg's suggestion eagerly, thankful for something to change the subject.
"Yes, we should definitely get a move on," she agreed. "What's your favorite food? Mine's probably big thick juicy hamburgers, though I don't get to eat them very often. My dad makes the most delicious burgers at home, right from scratch." She had to look up at him as they walked, but it wasn't annoying or anything. just seemed nice to have someone new to chatter away to.
